    We as Native people need to keep up our traditions or we will lose it.

      the white man has already taken our cultures, our traditions, our lives. just another culture destroyed by white man.

      I agree, protect the sacred. In a materialistic world bent on consumerism and capitalism it's important we stand up and refuse to conform to societies standards. The white man has told us we need all these materialistic things. The intangible things, the things that can't be bought or sold -the things of the heart, the soul, and the mind were all our ancestors had and needed.

      Native American's used to enslave and wipe each-other out long before European's came, and even when European's were here.

    This is America at its purist! When the voice of the people was so loud that your ears would ring and your soul would fly. Drum circles are so powerful. Tsa la gi! Respect to my fellow native peoples!

      It's called northern buddy. It's northern style. Personally I like it better than southern and I like playing it more as well.

    As someone who has Puerto Rican heritage which is tribal at it's core, seeing stuff like this makes my blood race. It makes me wanna stand on a mountain and pound my chest and let out a war cry. I love seeing the people keeping the old traditions. It makes me sad that I didn't have stronger Native American herritage in my family, otherwise I might've grown up doing stuff like this. Ever since I was a little kid, all I ever wanted was to sit in a drum circle and beat the drum and chant at the top of my lungs. I mean what could be cooler than that?

  • @ruben305rosado
    @ruben305rosado 3 роки тому +1

    One of the coolest things I've ever seen, in terms of human collaboration, focus, dedication, alignment, intention, giving... This sounds like it is a chant unchanged since forever, and these men are honoring us by honoring the tradition. And it makes me think that there once was a time that this chant was played for the first time, ever, and what era that possibly could have been. And at that time, it all came from just one person's idea way back when, and here we are in modern times holding it down. I think this is marvelous.

    To prepare for healing, native healers may go for a day or more without food,
    sleep, and even water. They may also spend extended time in solitude, contemplation,
    and prayer, and subject themselves to extremes of temperature in cold streams or hot
    sweat lodges. Techniques for inducing altered states of consciousness include intense
    rhythmic stimulation such as chanting, singing, dancing and drumming;
    I haven't had food or slept in 2 days, due to my medication for studying, and I feel like this drumming is the most incredible sound I've ever heard

    The best way to learn is by going to a pow wow, offer a person tobacco for your questions. If they don't accept the tobacco ask someone else. Someone will give you answers. You need to respect our people by the tobacco. Then they will truly know that you are sincere and want to learn.
