I didn't expect a talking heads song this year But I am glad to have seen it, it's beautiful as the day I first listened to the Talking Heads album of 1977
I was all ticked off that the Talking Heads classic And She Was got excluded from the great 4K of the Stop Making Sense concert film. Then a month later I happened to notice that this song didn't even exist until a year after the concert was recorded. Oopsie.
With this very song, the band created and perfected Art School punk. I mean, who else puts French lyrics in a song about a psychokiller, and releases the album the same year as the Son of Sam is terrorizing New York? Frickin' brilliant!
The cello sounds great, even though this version is quite a downgrade Also was there ever any explanation given for why the lyrics at 1:20 are different from the ones on regular psycho killer? Pre 77 it wasnt something like I think I've passed the test I think im quite i think I'm the best Then It turned into the best and the most iconic one And here it's this? Was any explanation given on why?
We are being milked. There's really not that much new stuff on this release to justify the crazy cost, and upgrading my cd/dvd set from 2006. I think if they ever did tour again I probably wouldn't go as tickets would be ludicrously priced.
@@NonTwinBrothers Not really my point, I'm happy to pay a reasonable price for a nice collection of new material, but this upcoming release costs twice what it should, for mostly stuff that is already available. Money for old rope.
It mostly feels like a rerelase with new remasters, which I'd honestly like to check the new remasters out, but I think some new stuff is gonna be included as well
this "Arthur feller" is a musical genius, he was there during the recording of Sgt Peppers, he was there one who suggested the orchestra in A Day in the life, he also composed half of Dark side of the moon. 🙃

I love the song and like Arthur Russel, but what the hell is this? It seems like they just spliced together some Arthur Russel Chello with the original song without even trying to change the rest of the track or the Chello to make it sound better.
This alternate version was made during the original sessions for the album and was released as the B-side of the original "Psycho Killer" single. I believe their producer, Tony Bongiovi, was trying to add outside instrumentation to their songs, but only a few of those versions made it to the album.

Anyone get the feeling we are being milked? When you look at this release there isn't really much new stuff at all to justify the exorbitant cost..
I mean if I see stuff appear on streaming services without paying a thing I can't really complain 🤷♂
