Their lines are spoken so quickly and at great length. I admire the ability to memorize so many words and to speak them with such speed and enthusiasm.
Thanks a lot for this ! My LLCEA teacher showed this to us while we were studying The Importance of Being Earnest ! Without people like you she would probably never have found about this and we wouldn’t have the pleasure to enjoy a great play with great actors
Great Elouise. I did these for my EFL students years ago. I hope you enjoy the play. Wilde died in Paris and is buried at Pere Lachaise Cemetery. My favorite line is where Cecily says that German makes her feel so plain.
Thank you very much for posting this excellent production of this play. I had forgotten (or pehaps never noticed) that no one seems at all shocked that Jack and Gwendolen are revealed to be first cousins.

It is indeed time for society to get out of the gutter and return to good manners in speaking as well as behaving.

That was a strange teacher of yours who was not acquainted with the name and works of Oscar Wilde.
Thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed this.
Just listened to the audiobook yesterday and, today watched this. I m now, addicted to this story.

Thanks for the subtitles I am French but working on this play for English literature, it helps me a lot!

This was a beautiful play. I am Mexican and use it for practicing my English.
Beware! Your English might become better than that of the current population in the US.
You're welcome. I did it for one of my English classes. Audio books did not seem to interest them. This was much better. We also did Romeo and Juliet.
Mark Johnstone thank you so much

That sort of thing was of no concern during those times.
What a gem. Thanks for the upload, Mark. Wilde was one of the greats.
