I have an older Ryobi blower and I found I almost always held the turbo button down. So I ended up opening it up and wiring the turbo switch together so it's always on.
Man, you just saved me $179.99 + 11.5% tax. Thanks!!! Gonna buy a homelite battery one instead. I have one Gas and one rotate the tube to lock it. No plastic piece that might possibly break.
I appreciate the words richard. Just wanna see the designers make really good tools that we can buy and keep buying over the years instead of small gradual tweaks like iphones forcing us to pay full price for almost the same tools.
Good comments. Thanks. I just bought one but a battery wouldn't charge and I had to swap for a 2nd one but it had that broken off retainer tab/clip in your point #1 (yeah brand new in the box). Now I am thinking I should just get my $$ back and shop another brand. Thanks for keen observations, much appreciated.
Not sure which Skil Model you speak of but the only 2 40V SKIL models I see are 500 CFM (BL4713-10) and 530 CFM (BL4713-11). This Ryobi blower moves 600 CFM. I'm glad you found a good deal and I can appreciate the Skil IPx4 water resistance. The faster charging time is nice too just remember that rapid charging wears down battery cells faster long term. Good luck, we are half way through autumn and there's still plenty of leaves and debris to clean 👍🏻 - Work Smart 🛠
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL It was the 500 CFM blower and I use a regular charger that I had purchased in a trimmer combo kit. I know the Whisper technology is awesome and wasn't suggesting that Skil meets your needs. My comment was only to address the issue of user friendly features.
@@baconsporks sorry if it came off as defensive 😅, I meant that our tools have trade-offs. I was looking into cordless air hammers, skil has one but I don't like the 90 degree head like the m12 soldering iron. Milwaukee patents are pending and I'm hopeful (hammering at car suspension is murder on your back)
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL no worries, I am relatively new to power tools and appreciate learning of all the trade offs, which I agree will eventually sway consumers in different directions.

Smart! but since it falls under modification new buyers would void their warranties. I hope Ryobi adds a permanent solution 👍🏻

Unless the model i was about to buy (CFM 550) dont have these flaws.
No worries angel, just keeping all these companies honest 🤙🏼

Broken right out the box? That sucks! Returning it may depend on whether you have other 40v tools or other platforms for that matter.
I bought a skil 40 volt blower kit that was on clearance for $40. It is not whisper but the design puts Ryobi to shame.
