I feel like Keller's growth also shows just how important it is to find the right coach and the right system for certain players. Night and day when you compare the numbers under Tocchet to the numbers under Tourigny, and it shows how much Tocchet stifled the growth of Keller and a few other players as well back then due to his coaching style

He’s not Elias Pettersson, but he’s still a great player. Arizona, if they have any plans on being a playoff team and ultimately a contender, which they should be, should have Keller in their plans long term. He’s the best player I’ve seen there since Keith Tkachuk. Different kind of player, but in terms of impact on the team and go to guy, he’s the one. He just needs a lot of help. But don’t let your management trade him, guys. He’s a keeper. All the best to the Coyotes. They’re going to be a good team soon, so support them through this.

im sure he puts a good effort in now and then defensively but the term 'star player' is degraded when all you need is a couple good offensive seasons to claim the title. He isnt a top 32 player in this league, he hasnt won any MVP awards, is likely not all that durable and he is not a player to build your entire team around. He would probably be a middle-tier first line player on a good team, like Tyler Toffoli or Carter Verhaeghe. And to me that doesnt cut it for being a 'star player', even if he is young.

Also, drafted 7th overall, set USNTDP record for points, Hockey East Rookie of the Year in his one season at BU, led the World U-17 Tournament in scoring, MVP of the U18 World Championships...I can go on, but look it up yourself since you seem to know nothing about him. if he really is a star-in-the-making in the best league in the world, then it shouldnt be an issue to lead his franchise into the playoffs at least 1/2 the time. It shouldnt be an issue to make the players around him better, to put butts in the seats, to win games by himself, and to be a leader on both sides of the ice. if he really was a star...rather than a 1 dimensional player with too much ice time.
maybe im wrong and he takes off. if so ill own it but from I have seen from him, I see a sub-30 goal, 65-70 pt season with no playoffs, again. Even if he got 100 points, it is near worthless if youre incapable of bringing the post season to your club.
