Last autumn and winter I Compani played two projects with two different line-ups.
The only overlap was of course the band leader Saxophonist, composer Bo van de Graaf.
During a sold-out matinee concert in TivoliVredenburg Utrecht, recordings were made of the 7-tet line-up that is currently playing in a special composition: saxophones, oboe, violin, bandoneon and rhythm section. The repertoire consists of older and newer work. The opening piece: Sogni d'ro (golden dreams) was already recorded in 1994 for the CD of the same name on the BVHaast label. Of course we cannot escape a touch of Nino Rota: Il Bidone (the Bidon) Fellini 1955.
Shortly afterwards I Compani scored a hit in Nijmegen. Photography by city photographer Jan van Teeffelen (1930-2011) was provided with appropriate music by a 10-person line-up. Often musicians with an “I Compani past”.
4 sold-out performances were played in LUX theater Nijmegen. Part of the last concert can be heard on this CD. The entire Jan van Teeffelen suite can be found on Spotify. Also available on CD via the I Compani website.

About One Way Ticket to Tibet
Shortly after yet another lockdown, the musicians were fully charged, which could be heard during this Carte Blanche concert. Sparks flew around in Brebl, Nijmegen.
With spontaneous improvisations and pieces by the musicians it became clear once again that the ideal conditions of a stage matter!

Gaat het dan nooit ophouden met Bo van de Graaf.
Nee, het gaat nooit ophouden. Reprise op reprise, new op new, experimenteel op Rota, klassiek op Hazes. Wonderschoon allemaal.
I Compani = Bo, maar I Compani, zijn mates zijn meer. Heerlijk.
Wie koopt er nog een CD?? Ik!!
