I appreciate your treatment of this great man - I live near Knox, Knox City and Knoxfield. I have kin that attended Knox School, Sydney. And Carey Baptist School here. My ancestry is 3 sides Scot 1 Cornish. And until today I knew more about Bloody Mary than this saint she tried to martyr. I believe that the doctrine of Calvinism's predestination is a blight on Knox, but there is no doubting his legacy is still changed lives and I am so inspired by the words John uttered on his death cot - the Word of God is as powerful a gift today as it was when the Geneva Bible was produced by these faithful servants of the Living God. Like John the Holy Spirit has opened up my eyes to Scriptures later on in life - and these words from Isaiah, Geneva 1599 bring hope and praise Him for saving me, and this lamp unto my feet. Isaiah 30:18-21 [18]Yet therefore will the Lord waite, that he may haue mercy vpon you, and therefore wil he be exalted, that hee may haue compassion vpon you: for the Lord is the God of iudgement. Blessed are all they that waite for him. [19]Surely a people shall dwell in Zion, and in Ierusalem: thou shalt weepe no more: he wil certainly haue mercy vpon thee at the voyce of thy crye: when he heareth thee, he wil answere thee. [20]And when the Lord hath giuen you the bread of aduersitie, and the water of affliction, thy raine shalbe no more kept backe, but thine eyes shall see thy raine. [21]And thine eares shall heare a worde behind thee, saying, This is the way, walke ye in it, when thou turnest to the right hand, and when thou turnest to the left.
Not to mention that the Bible was edited and changed up until the 1500s…. By Calvin himself I might add. History and both sides of the story are very important here.
You say that God arbitrarily creates some to save and most to destroy forever... I would hate to stand before Christ with that opinion. I don't need Calvinist thinking to have reverence for God inspired in me...not at all...contrarily, that I can yet be cut off from the Vine due to neglecting so great a salvation...that causes me to adore and cling to Christ Jesus!
Before God changed me, I was a wretched sinner who the last thing I would’ve wanted was to worship God. But God reached down with his mighty and with surgical precision cut out my heart of stone to heart of flesh, quoting the great prophet Ezekiel. The truths of Calvinism I’ve experienced in my life, and are the truth from the foundations of scripture alone.
Sola Scriptura... Scripture Alone? Jesus pointed his Church to the Teacher & Guide...and the Comforter...the Holy Spirit. Many believers could not read nor own bibles; but had the ministering Holy Spirit. The Bible is worshipped today as all-sufficient...it is not.
Bernard, there were 4 other "solas" that were preached and adopted by reformers like Martin Luther and are: solus Christus (Christ alone), sola fide (faith alone), sola gratia (grace alone), and soli Deo gloria (glory to God alone).
Wonderful, inspired preaching. Thank you Dr. Lawson for carrying on with the example of your namesake!
Amazing life to live by and stand for God!
Yes considering he didn't even know the slightest thing about God
PRAISE GOD FOR KNOX. GOD WILL RAISE UP MORE KNOX NOW AND AGE TO COME.

Conviction that is the difference.... Believing what you say is the difference... Believing 'Jesus is Lord'
Needed that. Thanks.

election is in every book of the bible. A true elect believer will obey and will abide by the grace of God.

Hello...👋
Denominations
are NOT churches...
Goodbye...👋
Sola Scriptura...
Scripture Alone?
Jesus pointed his Church to the Teacher & Guide...and the Comforter...the Holy Spirit.
Many believers could not read nor own bibles; but had the ministering Holy Spirit. The Bible is worshipped today as all-sufficient...it is not.
Bernard, there were 4 other "solas" that were preached and adopted by reformers like Martin Luther and are: solus Christus (Christ alone), sola fide (faith alone), sola gratia (grace alone), and soli Deo gloria (glory to God alone).
Christ calls us to worship in spirit and truth, basic logic tells us the spirit=truth. Or that the spirit will guide his Church to the truth.
Papal church
is no church...
Denominational church
is likewise not church...
Not the churches of God.
In God's presence I speak. ☝
So somehow , the Holy Spirit left His Church until the novelty of Protestantism in the 16th century. ?
Please explain your comment.
