@@What2Melt_by_Randall hey, what brand is that foundry of yours? I’m actually a Bladesmith, and that would be the perfect size for me to cast small knife parts. I don’t need anything the size like Bigstackd or ArtbyAdrock uses.

Haha. The two channels I follow as well (BiGStackD and ArtbyAdrock). It’s what inspired me to attempt this skill.
The foundry is an electrical furnace I found on amazon. Brand is called ToAuto. As you said, I didn’t want to start with anything crazy big as I was just starting so gave this electrical one a try. This type of furnace is used in jewelry stores for gold and silver and even copper. I’m glad I did get this as it was a perfect beginner foundry. It may be perfect for you based on your application.
Here is the link from amazon. Prime too so quick shipping.
Overall I’m happy with it. I am still getting the bigger propane foundry. More firepower.

I like how you referenced the cliche melts at the beginning. Well played :) That gave me a chuckle. Have you tried turning malachite into copper yet? I think you'd have fun with that one if you haven't yet. Keep up the good work.

When I do my Nordic Gold alloy I tend to:
    - first melt down copper - it has highest melting point
    - add aluminium and tin - those metals after stirring decrease the melting/freeze point of the mixxed alloy
    - then I wait a bit for the alloy to cool down and when I see it start a bit to freeze then I start to heat it up again a bit to stop freezing
    - then I add zinc - it does not explode with zinc oxide like on your video - because the temperature is much lower - zinc oxides and blows like that when it reaches above boiling temperature of zinc which is ~907*C and the allox made of copper/aluminium/tin has about 950*C (cheched that by tests)
    - before adding zinc I stop heating up
    - after adding zinc good stir and then again wait because added zinc also decreases the melting/freeze point
    - and you are ready to go when alloy stops smoking - then you dont loose to much of the zinc inside because it stopped oxidizing
take out he crucibe, skim the dross/oxided zinc and then pour :)
That's how I do - try to do it by yourself next time :) I love the look of Nordic Gold it has perfect color for me :)
