One take wonder is right! Those grooves are f- deadly. Love how animated Ben is too, it's easy to see you guys put 110 percent in! Am a 70s 80s rock/blues guy honestly, but you guys are an awesome band! It's a trip listening to your stuff. :-)
Bea, I'm curious, you guys ever considered a rhythm guitarist/keyboards/bongos (heavy metal bongos. That's the new vibe, man.)? The 3 piece element is part of the draw imo, Perhaps the music would be more time consuming to write too? The band seems reliant on individual personality. But I wonder if you ever sat down as a band and thought about getting another guy in to fill out the sound, it almost seems like that'd be a double edged sword in your case! Peace. Apologies, that was a long question. :P

3:54 onwards is fantastic. I bought a pair of studio monitors last weekend and the quality of the recording on this is just excellent as is your whole bands musicianship. I'm a guitar player but i got jealous of your drum skills just a bit. Excellent job

This rocks pretty hard I must say. Really enjoying the tones here! Drums and guitar sound huge! Playing is spot on too. Add a bit of harmony on top of this and it could be even better, but works really well as a 3 piece already. Can't wait to listen on my speakers, even though the mix is quite nice with these cheapo headphones.

most laid back and might I say 'simple' drums on a prog/math instrumental band, but thats what I like about this music, which is the first 'hard' music I've listened to in awhile. The drums aren't just a cluster fuck of the drummer trying to show off everything he has in one song. Nice to hear a drummer pretty much stay in the pocket in this type of music.

Elephantricity haha 'simple'. But I know what you mean -- I think of it as 'musical'. Another drummer who has that quality, in my opinion, is Danny Carey.
I find it similar to the way Sound Awake by Karnivool comes off. Very groovy, but LOTS of maths and complex bits happening around the groove.

Have you always been an open handed drummer or did you convert from leading with your right? You lead your fills with both hands it's great.
As a simple guitarist I have no idea how on earth you can remember all the rhythm changes so accurately through a 10 minute song. I completely rely on the drummer for cues - muchos respect!
+Matt Davis It's just a case of practising the parts until the muscle memory forms. It's a bit like building layers where eventually you can just play the song as a whole without having to think too microscopically.

Awesome man. Open handed question for you - if you're on the ride and you want to quickly transition to the opposite side of the kit, did you ever have trouble avoiding hitting the rod of the high hat? thanks man

Three things about this video:
1- Ben, you're a fucking animal behind the kit, keep it up :)
2- Bea missed an epic troll at the end by not saying "Oh shit, forgot to hit record."
& 3- I thought i'd point out that even without a bass, it appeared that Dave's hands were still playing his part, which i found to be rather amusing.
Great job on the take, sounds like an epic track. Is Toska strictly instrumental? or are you going to find a vocalist someday?

man toska is like a super underdog kind of band, dorje is underrated but toska even more, but its sooo good, super grooving, hardrock with a kind of metal twist and progressive aspect, when i listen to this band i can feel my blood boiling inside, theres just something to it! and rabea is just way too insane with is licks and riffs, its mindblowing, they deserve to make it big, it as to become big, seeing them being so small is heartbreaking :(

It's so obvious you guys have played together for years. One of the least selfish, most organic bands I've heard in a long time. It will be interesting to see how a singer fits into that dynamic if you go down that path.
Very different bands
Toska has a far different style/genre. It's hard to put lyrics with the riffs which are in Toska songs.

Awesome! I just recorded a band at my studio here in New Delhi, India and I thought that drummer was good! we recorded the drum parts per section but he breezed through it. Remembered his parts even without the bass/guitar to follow. He just fucking remembered them! I thought that was pretty insane but then I just saw this...Wow! Fantastic! Greetings from India!
