What a beautiful little child of yours. I know she isn't human but they feel like they are a child. Love my pets they are my family..i know you miss her .❤
Just stumbled across this video, wow 😢Honey Bear. So glad you filmed her when you had her. Reminds me of my old dog Gizmo. Incredible all the years of footage you have.
We drove this and got out and saw all the cabins. IT'S A SHAME people don't have respect for the cabins and have to write on the walls. One place we stopped let people had stacked rocks and was really neat. We went real early in the morning and was only ones around was really peaceful and beautiful. THANKS again you two are amazing and kiss that puppy for me.
Wonderful to see this during off season. It is so jammed with cars otherwise. We went to the cabin at 12 min mark and hiked around the stream and woods. My husband and son are always all over the rocks in streams. The honey from the store at the end is great. There is so much to see at Roaring Fork. Thank you so much for sharing.
The walkway between the cabins is called a dog trot.. it separates the kitchen and living area from the sleeping area. The dog trot allowed for airflow and was cooler in summer. Bedrooms were not heated.. My great aunt and uncle lived in a similar cabin. Theirs was quite a bit larger though. In the summer they would even sleep in the dog trot. It wasn’t unusual to see chickens and goats wandering through the trot. lol. I am so blessed to have grown up in a time that I could experience these times past. Love getting to know more about your area with you. Safe travels., Denise
I want you to know how much my family and I enjoy your videos. We live in Nebraska, however my husband is originally from Knoxville. We vacation in Gatlinburg about every other year. Stumbling upon your channel has been a great surprise. Keep up the great videos from the area and know that we are living vicariously through you.
I love this trail! We spotted a momma bear and her cubs once there, it was awesome! And Fluffy is adorable!! Only complaint we had was other cars wanting to go faster than the speed limit...they need to slow down and enjoy!!!!
That part is so annoying. I mean why even take the nature trail if you're just going to speed through it.... They act angry and shocked that everyone is going slow.
so true I try to go real early so I don't have to deal with those folks. It is a real treat when you can see a mama bear and her cubs. Thank's for Watching❤😀
Nature Trail is Magnificent! All the things you see on the way. Thanks for the Ride it was very Enjoyable I think Honey Bear, (Fluffy) enjoyed the ride as well
Loved this video with Honey Bear❤️ We have a similar dog that reminds me of her. We have driven this road several times in the past 21 years when we have visited. It's a hidden gem in the Smokies 🐕🏞️
There is also something else in that area you can walk to and video. When you come in on Cherokee Orchard Road, you will not go far before you come to an institute sign, the fire apparatus is also kept back there. Turn right, it's ok to enter that area, and go past the large building and you can park anywhere. Walk between the old greenhouse on the right and a small stone building now an office in your left. Walk up the hill a very short distance and you will see what we hikers call thg e fairy house. It's actually a very nice well built old spring house that was built into the hill, and the stream still runs right it. It's a special place to see. Wear bug spray, lots of flies and knats because the soggy ground and stream. It's a beautiful not well know thing to see. 😊 love the entire Roaring Fork area. Lots of special places in there to see. Love this video!
I go to Smoky Mountains at least once a year to photograph wildlife, and I have been through Roaring Fork Motor Train a few times but never saw wildlife but I saw these interesting places they are showing. Nice place! At the end place they showed interesting sales places that include a historic truck and buildings, a vacation rental place and bathrooms!
Thanks for sharing the nature trail with us. I have been on it once several years ago. I kept thinking that it would really be pretty in the autumn with all of the colorful trees. It would also probably be bumper to bumper traffic through there. We are blessed with colorful trees in the autumn here in the mountains of southern West Virginia. We also have bear and deer. I never know if I should stop or speed by when I spot deer on our back roads. You never know how the deer might react and if there are more behind it. We have experienced a group of deer following behind the lead deer so I have been grateful that I stopped a distance behind so that they could all cross the road safely.
This is my homestate! Love your channel! While I live up north now. I visit every spring break. I once stayed at a cabin on Roaring Fork Road and while on a distance run, ran past Ely's Mill onto RFR when it was closed. The women running the general store was worried I would run into bears. I ran a short few minutes, got spooked and spent the rest of the time I should've been running buying goodies amd soap at Elys and hearing the history. Hope it survived the arson fire of 2016.
Enjoyed the Roaring fork video again. Will, you are so good filming, recording--whatever 6ou call it !!! We finally made it up here! Our April trip got knocked out. But, we were able to get a great little cabin in the Cobbley Knob area. We've had a wonderful time, but, sadly, have to get back to reality tomorrow. We plan on visiting the Island today. We did the Anakeesta yesterday. That was very awsome. The ride up was very scary, for me, but the enclosed cabin was much better on the way down. Anyway, still love watching your vlogs.
Thank you for your videos. I've been coming to the area over 30 years as often as possible. Friends and family will be there in June and we plan to be there with them. They depend on me to be thier tour guide.
Hi Guy's loved little honeybear loved the Ride the trial's we're so cool I loved the mountain's gorgeous lovely running water' fall's and the water's over the rock's wow loved being with you Guy's today! So Truly Beautiful! Thanks Guy's for you're Guy's wonderful channel's!?
Thank you so much for the videos you guys put out! I live here in the area but when I'm feeling down or can't get out I can watch one of your videos and it always makes my day👍
Bedroom on one side and Living and kitchen on the other. The through fare was called a dog trot. What time of Day was that and what time of year? Usually Roaring fork is bumper to bumper with the smell of burning brake fluid in the air and tail lights are not far from your view. My absolute all-time favorite motor ride in the Smokies!
Beautiful video. One of my favorite places. Have y’all been to Catalochee Valley outside of Maggie valley? It is beautiful too! And the drive up to it is interesting lol
We went here. Made a big mistake and brought our F350 truck. Many vehicles could barely get past other vehicles because people basically were parked REALLY on the road. They really need to enforce people pulling ALL the way off the road so others can get by. It really was ridiculous. And the people were nowhere to be found because they were hiking the trails. It was crazy busy that day! Question- are dogs allowed on the trails there? Are there any signs? I don't think dogs are allowed on the trails in cades cove? I can't remember.
Hi Will and Dawn, great video! My husband and I are planning our second trip to the Smokies in mid April and we will be bringing our dog for the first time. I keep reading that only two of the trails in the park allow dogs but I see here you were able to take Fluffy everywhere when you stopped along the way. Are dogs allowed on the Roaring Fork nature trail? Thanks!
yankeeinthesouth what I read had no exceptions to it. Trails are trails. One of the last things I want to do is step in dog poo where someone does not clean up after their pet. If they let one dog, they have to let them all.
Honey Bear is soooo adorable! I used to have a Pom named Pacey. Pom’s are the only type dog I have ever owned. BTW: my name is Gina. Lol I know I have been commenting and watching a lot so just wanted to share my actual name! Love ur vids 💜
You guys do such a wonderful job with these videos in the Smoky Mountains. I just love them. Fluffy is so cute. What kind of dog is she/he? Looks like a white Pomeranian or a very small Spitz. ;o)
Great videos. Just a word please....are you aware that there are only 2 trails in the SMOKIES that “dogs” are allowed on? We have a dog and we leave him behind on our hikes because he is not allowed. I believe the concern is upsetting the ecosystem. If I am wrong, please let me know. Thanks!
Dogs are allowed in campgrounds, picnic areas, and along roads, but must be kept on a leash at all times. The leash must not exceed 6 feet in length. Dogs are only allowed on two short walking paths-the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail. Pets are not allowed on any other park trails. The day we filmed this video it was along the roadside which is OK you just can't take them down trails hope this helpful thanks Tim
yankeeinthesouth thanks for acknowledging the comment. Please understand I am not trying to ‘pick a fight’, but you have a good following and if people see your dog on trails, etc...they may think they can do the same. I once saw several college age guys drinking beer while walking on a trail, had the case of beer in hand. That is also a no-no and I regret not calling them out for it. Imagine where those empties ended up? Oh well, we all love the smokies and I hope we all want tot are care of them. Again, love your videos! Thanks again!
The reason there are 2 fireplaces is they heated the house with the wood they burned in the fireplace. They had to have both going big to get heat. Most of the heat went up & out.
Thank you so much. I am disabled so I am happy I got to see this beautiful place.
Not a problem thanks Christine
What a beautiful little child of yours. I know she isn't human but they feel like they are a child. Love my pets they are my family..i know you miss her .❤
Love the motor trail. It’s my favorite trail an not as much traffic as Cade’s cove. Always see a bear an cubs!
❤Will and Dawn, like i told @SmokyMoutainHiker...y'all are so blessed to live where you can visit those amazing mountain's anytime!!!
This is one of your best videos. Excellent Job! I have taken this motor trail many times and you did it justice! It is a beautiful !
I'm amazed that all of the old buildings are open to the public and that they are not vandalized. Great to see TN through your videos. Thank you
Thanks Morro Bay72
People do write on the walls and so sad to destroy the beauty of the cabins
Just stumbled across this video, wow 😢Honey Bear. So glad you filmed her when you had her. Reminds me of my old dog Gizmo. Incredible all the years of footage you have.
Such a Beautiful 😍 Beautiful trail , Thanks very much cause otherwise I wouldn't be able to see the beauty. ♥️♥️♥️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

I try to go real early and avoid weekend's and summer and fall time. I love this area of gamma so much. Thanks so much for watching!😁
Love the Pom. We used to breed them had mostly blonds. Wonderful dogs. Love the motor trail, must do for me.
Thanks for sharing Dee TN gator
Nice video. Such a pretty drive. Wow! Those bridges were tight squeezes. The waterfalls there are pretty. Thank you for sharing!

I think Honey Bear, (Fluffy)

Thank Zardonrich
I really enjoyed this motor trail during august a few years ago. It’s closed in March when we come normally.
Beautiful scenery and wonderful park. Great place for holiday and sight seeing.
The cabin that was divided (open in center)
is called a Dog-trot. Love the videos.
Loved this video with Honey Bear❤️ We have a similar dog that reminds me of her. We have driven this road several times in the past 21 years when we have visited. It's a hidden gem in the Smokies 🐕🏞️
Some of our best experiences have been on the motor nature trail. Great video once again.
Thanks Bob This area is one of the favorite. My favorite trails and waterfalls are in this area too.
Great work on this video, and background soundtrack as well! One of our favorite motor trails for sure.
Thank you so much Bruce 😀
Loved riding along with y’all.

Hi will and Dawn awesome video thanks for the ride from Westminster MD
Excellent!
The cabin that had the walk between the two rooms, one side was used for a kitchen so they wouldn't burn up in the summer staying in the other side.
Thanks for the information Mark
Beautiful video. One of my favorite places. Have y’all been to Catalochee Valley outside of Maggie valley? It is beautiful too! And the drive up to it is interesting lol
Yes we just did on a video on Catalochee about 2 weeks ago thanks Karen
21:01 Probably the best-named waterfall / cascade in the entire Great Smoky Mountains National Park......."Place of a Thousand Drips".
Are there any steep road climbs along the trail for those of us that are afraid of heights..? 😁😁
Amazing video, I plan to go in 3 weeks but our 4 leg family members are not allowed on any trail even if we carry them?
The Pancake Pantry makes a wonderful picnic lunch for an outing like this.
Thanks Tony

That a big problem up there thanks Anna👍
Fluffy is so cute!
Thanks so much Rob😁👍👍
Is that trail open in April?
Yes its open in April thank you Luke

do you think is ok to sleep/stay in the car in this trail ? and do they close the gates ? thanks !
No you cannot stay in your car on the Roaring Fork Motor Trail the park rangers will kick you out thanks Eddy
How do you get to the beginning of the trail?
@yankeeinthesouth: Does the Roaring Fork Motor trail requires 4WD to access?
No you can do it in a basic car make sure you have a full tank of gas
the squirrels were so cute
Thanks Faye
Will, how do you get a park map to see all the roads?
The visitors center has them
Do you all live near this area?
I live right here in Sevier county living the dream Thank's Macey
