With 2 rollers you end up with unwanted pulse flow, too much time in between material flow. What about 4 or 5 rollers? Wouldn't that give a consistent volume flow?
You are correct that the gap between the rollers creates a pulsation potential. We manage pulsation (when it is incomparable with the process) via inlet stabilizer and outlet dampeners. We can eliminate over 90%+ of the pulsation caused by the design. Adding rollers will still have the pulsation, just at a higher frequency.
