You can apply, however based on previous year trends the cutoff for general category will be higher than 85%ile in CAT. Chances of interview call is less (unless the cutoff is reduced). Its a chance worth taking if you dont have sure shot calls from better colleges

Completed graduation from SBSC, Delhi University
Work ex - 21Months at KPMG
Category - NC OBC.
He is mentioned it is more CMAT Focused college, So chances of being selected at CAT is low? Plz reply.
The weightage given to CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT is 35%. It doesnt matter through which exam you are applying. Once you clear the cutoff in the respective exam its score will carry 35% weightage in the selection.
After that 65% weightage is given to Personal Interview, Oral Communication Test and candidate's profile.
What he meant in the interview was aspirants prefer CMAT more. This doesnt mean that weightage for CAT is less or chances of selection through CAT is less.

You should apply. Your score is in the borderline for EWS. Its worth taking that risk, if the cutoffs dont change you have a decent chance of interview calls
