That is so gorgeous. I bet Cathleen is over the moon. So much fun. I AM going to do a blob painting that will consist of 3 canvases or wood planks. I am excited about it and will send you a pic when I am able to take the time to do it. Mom has gotten so demanding and takes so much of my time. I have been so stressed that my BP is very high and I have lost 5 more lbs raising the loss to 40lbs. Sigh. Dr not happy. But I will survive. Much love. Love this! I love blob art and intend to try it one day. Thanks for the brilliant suggestion about resining the back of the canvas to keep it straighter, defo gonna do that cuz I was wondering whether the weight of the paint would make the canvas sag in the middle. Oh and also, must confess, I have a mad crush on Jeremy, he's so sweet 😂 Thanks, lads!

Lord-a-God-a-Mighty, Lee...I'da needed clean knickers after that brown splooge. These remind me of Toffifay candy...I think that's what it was called...chocolate, caramel and another dot of chocolate on the top. (if you don't remember it, google it...you'll see!) I love that you're doing these, they're very clean and "contained"...like...not chaotic...I guess all the chaos stays in the Artist for these. ha. How in the WORLD do you varnish these?
😂😂😂 you and me both!! Thank god for no audio on this one. You can varnish these, just stand it up and let the varnish trickle over the piece. I’ll show it in my next blob. ❤️ More to come.

I love the deep neutrals in this blob! Blobs are fun to do but so stressful knowing you can’t really scrape it if you mess up past the first layer.
Oh you can. As you will see in this episode. You can scrape at any point

That is so cool Lee! I've seen your other blob paintings and they are very cool too. I think this one is especially nice because of the color combo. I may even attempt it. When I watched the other blob videos I thought there is no way I would have the patience but now I think that's not so bad if you walk away and just continue every 24hrs. I’m a bigger fan of the bright bold colors but this one just looks so organic and I love the variety that you were able to get with the colors you used. I really love how these blob paintings look. Everyone you make makes me want to stop everything and make them. I really need to mix up some paints and start some practice blob paintings.

Thank you so much. For these blobs they canvas is usually on spinner of just inverted plastic cups. Nice and easy

Still watching but I've noticed what causes that pressure in the squeeze bottles is actually just air bubbles popping from mixing. After you mix, leave the cap off for a little bit or keep going back, take the cap off and gently tap the bottle on a table or counter. Put the cap back on and repeat and they won't explode on you. 😊
It only happens with the brown which I thought was unusual too but you’re right! All that pressure building up like a cork in a bottle. Lol
@@MasseArtStudio maybe it has something to do with the amount of solids in the paint. That would make sense that they might create more air reaction...for total lack of better wording 🤣

This looks like so much fun and it turned out amazing! How in the heck would you ship a piece like that safely?
Love this blob painting and the best demo of the technique that I have ever seen. So, thanks for that. But, a quick question. How did you fix it when the blob colour had spread slightly over the edges of blob colour below? I’ve tried the technique once but didn’t know how to fix it. Got disheartened!
Carefully! With a paper towel and qtips. The layer below if dry enough that you can wipe it off and start again but you have to move fast
I love love love this! I have been experimenting with this technique and it’s so much fun! Do you guys seal them with anything after they cure?
We seal them with spray varnish but the varnish in the recipe is more than enough for the shine
This turned out really beautifully. I would also hang it in my place! Well done and thanks for sharing your recipe on how you prepare your colors! I just got myself some Mod Podge to see its consistency as I will look for a similar glue now here in Germany... I am wondering if you have ever tried to do a blob painting with Piggies?
I have. I have a Zeus and Showpony blob that I did for the team a few weeks back. It was huge and a lot of fun. Please check it out. I give the receive there too!
So excited!! My studio hubby picked colors for a first blob painting (very small as a test piece), and I did a blue back pass on a small wood square yesterday after work - I forget what those are called. Anyway, now I have a question. The colors he picked are across different brands. 🥺 and we’re using two TLP pigments. What is the best way to even the consistency, and how do you do the pigments. That’s not in this video. I’m going through you Blob playlist and hope to find the info but thought I’d ask anyway.
Oh yay. So the very last Blob I did on the heart had TLP’s in them so check that one out. Liquitex, Arteza, amsterdam can all be mixed the same but beware of thicker body, they will need to be mixed different. Less paint and more varnish to get the same consistency

Wow Lee I love it! Cathleen will absolutely love it ❤️ One thing I would love to know is, when a blob is topped up too much with a colour and it spreads too much, how do you fix that, do you remove all the colour and re apply?
You can just take a stick and scrape it. Take a Qtip and wipe it up and be careful but you can fix them

I haven't gotten into resin yet, could you varnish the back to make the canvas tight?
Hmmm I’m not sure actually. But even water sprayed at the back helps.
This looks fun, I would like to give it a try. How long can you store the leftover paints?
I just did a Blob with leftovers from three months ago. They were fine

Oh Nvrmd. I’ve already messed it up. The resin pot never goes flat. It always has holes in it or dimples.

I just poured resin on the back so that it would harden and then tighten the canvas and stay that way.
How did you resin the back of the canvas?
You just pour the resin on and swirl it around.
