Good job, I'm working on a 15 hp gamefisher. Everything looks brand new on yours I assume u replaced both points and both condensers as well as the coils. Do u happen to have any links I have to do the same thing.

I'm not sure what I used to gap the points and condensers. I did find a video on UA-cam showing how to put the coil system together and how to gap them correctly. video is called "JOHNSON / EVINRUDE FLYWHEEL REMOVAL AND POINTS GAP INSPECTION"
Do you think those coils would work with the original ignition system. I just bought this motor and have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve got it taken down. Blue coils bad
it will not work, I did the same thing but the blue coils are actually bim coils and they are different. switch to a points and condenser system, it will save you time and money.

I have an 1980 Sea King 15 needing a coil. Any idea if the OEM Evinrude part will come off that fork and fit on my engine? I’m not trying to spend $80+ on this motor. Or do I have to go aftermarket Evinrude parts?
About to clean the points and replace the condensers on a game fisher 15 1988. Is it worth replacing the coils while I got it open? This thing never really ran.
If it never really ran, then the coils should be fine. I’ve been having ignition issues on my 1980 Sea king 15, but that’s likely from heavy use and then sitting for almost 30 years
I just put CDI ignition on mine. Works great. Both of my BIM coils were shot and I had no fire at all.
I want to do the same thing to my force 9.9, where did you buy the cdi system at?
