Hey coyote, I am an aspiring biologist and I love nature and animals alot! But since I have found your channel my love has become greater! I want to thank you and your team for doing what you are doing! Love you!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@AbhinavAhuja2002 I mean, I considered it but at this point I think that sounds like a conspiracy theory. They did mention this is a secret location so it might just be really rich and untapped for fossils. And I do think the editing plays a huge role... it basically looks like they were filming all day but it's over for us in minutes. So if you put that much effort into finding something in a good location for finding it, I imagine you may well find it!
@@TheNewUA-camHandlesAreDumb it seems like a good question that I'm sure has an explanation via geology and the way rivers work. I have no idea though! Maybe a good thing to ask on one of the Brave Wilderness live stream/Q&A things they've been doing.
@PaleoCris I teach in a preschool class but also do childcare for kids through 6th grade. Yesterday l showed this video to a group of Kinder and 1st graders. At the end I told them that I had bought one of your paleo packs and will bring it later for them to look through. One kid said "Which guy did you buy it from? The one with the great hair?" Oh my goodness. It was FABULOUS! And you gotta admit considering you had been playing around in the water your hair look pretty great! LOL!!
I remember when my geology teacher took my class out to the Rainbow River to go fossil hunting. I got many shark teeth, ray teeth plates, and seashells. My best find was a bird femur as the lighter bone usually doesn't fossilize as well. One of the guides gave me a nearly intact great white tooth. The guide also told us about a previous outing with students where he tripped over a submerged log and went to move it out of the student's way, only to realize that it was actually the lower jaw of a Mastodon! Edit: Of note was that one of the ray plates didn't fossilize in the usual way (most were black from the phosphate in the water) and had fossilized by calcium replacing most of the molecules of the plate and not the usual phosphate. This gave that fossil a cream color. Not remarkable but just interesting.
George Jobe That was a water snake, I don’t know the species, but I do know it’s a water snake. Rattlesnakes don’t live in a bayou, nor do they live in water.
I love fossil hunting. I went to Martha's vineyard for the first time last year. Found a decent sized mako and a meg. Then we went to Florida and found a bunch too. We are going back to Florida this summer to look again

I was wondering why everything was just on the surface of the riverbed.

Am I the only one extremely amazed at how the people was able to identify the fossils just like that?
Awesome video Coyote and Mario! I had a blast showing you guys around my area and taking notes on how you guys make your excellent videos!
