Hey Kino, Physical labor my entire work life skateboarder, mountain biker, jiujitsu and on/off yogi. I'm 54 and having some shoulder issues that are also giving pain in bicep. Any advice for shoulder pain?
I'm not Kino but I can relate to your problem (i broke my supraspinatus 2 yrs ago, surgeon said no to surgery bc I kept quite good mobility). First : if your shoulder hurts, it's logical that your biceps is in pain too. Second : in your yoga practice, adapt the moves : for example, I can't do tripod headstand so I do supported headstand bc it puts less strain on my rotator cuff. Some days you'll be able to do wild thing, some days your shoulder will say 'nope', so stay in 3-legged downdog with one knee bent and heel towards the opposite glute, it will stretch the hip flexor without strain on your shoulder. I can't do chaturanga anymore, so I stay in plank during the chaturanga - updog, and then go into downdog. Hope this helps ! And always check with your doctor what you can / should / should not do.
