Tracking is not a solo skill. Tracking is a group skill. If you want to level up Tracking fast then do it in a group of 4 to 8 players, and use LP to skip EVERYTHING. Without high Specs the skill is terrible.

Those are potion ingredients. 1 item = 1 potion, so that mob dropped ingredients for 4 potions in total. Take some time to ponder on that: potions are not supposed to be expensive. This is what they expect people to waste time on.
