You can tell that she aged but I would give my right arm to see her as Magenta once again because NO ONE can do it better than her. She's an amazing person
she's too friggin cute and you can tell she enjoys singing this song so much and the eye thing she does and she's so adorable like this woman is amazing. all the awards
I love Patricia Quinn. The one and only. She didn't have many speaking parts, but is in most scenes. She made a perfectly bitchy Magenta. Luv this woman!
She did sing the song, every night on stage. Richard only sang it once for the movie.... and he did smash it to be fair. People need to let things go after 46 years lol (p.s. I love PQ)
She had apparently recorded her vocals for the film version of the song, but O'Brien's voice was used in the final cut unbeknownst to her until she first saw the movie. But she DID sing it in the stage version, and I'm sure she forgave O'Brien and actually thought he did a good job (which he did, of course, since he wrote all of the songs).
Watching Patricia singing it, I have the distinct feeling she's doing the original choreography from when she played the role at the Royal Court Upstairs. It's still embedded in her muscle memory.
Like many others, I adore this woman and this song. You can tell how much she enjoys singing it in the way she sounds slightly sad as the song reaches the end. She is Magenta and people can try, but they'll never be as good as Patricia Quinn. x
OMG WHAT CAN BE BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL USHERETTE, REPRISING HER ROLE FOR THE RHS TRIBUTE. WOW, NOT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HEARD HER AND KNOW SHE IS THE ORIGINAL "LIPS" SO-TO-SPEAK TO ROCKY HORROR. BRAVO MISS QUINN, BRAVO.
I LOVED THIS! She is selling the show so well! From her singing, I believe that there is absolutely nothing better than going to the picture show. She is amazing!
I can almost imagine what it must have been like to see her on stage in this role. What a setting this must have put out for a totally unsuspecting audience. Cute, but a little weird, with barely a hint of what was to come.
In 1991, I attended a performance of Rocky Horror on the West End. Anthony Head was Frank. Craig Ferguson was Brad. Since that night was the anniversary of the original production's opening night, Patricia Quinn played the Usherette, and Richard O'Brien played Eddie. At the curtain calls, there was a birthday cake, and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Rocky. Everybody was taking photos of the ceremony, including the cast. I still have my snapshots from that night.
this is the best thing ever especially because this song is the reason she loved rocky horror so much. people told her pass on it since it was only a four line role but she did it anyway for the love of the show... what an awesome person!
I don’t even know what to say, other than I love Patricia Quinn so much! The way that music just flows through her is so amazing, you can tell she’s really passionate about it.
I am glad she got to do this! I know she was sad they did not use her voice for this in the film. I can see why. It's her only song and she is featured right at the beginning! Sweet role!
It's a more subdued rendition of this number than I'm used to, but I ADORE how she just totally owns this performance with her uniquely weird energy. She's not in costume, but she's definitely channeling Magenta, look how much acting she's doing with just her eyes alone. What a legend!
who the HELL are those 5 omg did they come (*giggles*) here by accident? AH kills this part every time. He has no fear and totally commits to the ridiculous and sublime,. Love it.
the fun thing about these songs is, singing great and proper will make it sound wrong. singing poorly but passionately produces a better sound. just hit notes, be into it, and it's gold.
Well, if you understand that when she first sang this for the Rocky Horror Show, she was at least a few years younger, and if you listen to the original cast London recording from '73, her voice is a few tones higher. People aren't going to sound the same 20-30 years later, and take note that she probably signed on to do this last minute and probably hasn't had vocal lessons in years, if she had any at all to begin with (some people are just naturally gifted or just never sign on to get them)
I'm glad the fans had the sense not to do the call out lines; I mean, I love them and they're funny but I think it's getting a little carried away when it interferes with an actor's performance during the play and songs and stuff.
There will be only one , Magenta ..... the iconic Patricia Quinn ...... Who is the singing lips in Rocky Horror Picture Show? Image result for lips singing ,The Rocky Horror Picture Show Those iconic lips belong to Patricia Quinn, but that's not her voice. Hubert Bieniek was that a pun??
We can tell someone has aged after 33 years? 🤣🤣🤣
@@OrangeTabbyCat I know haha - EVERYONE has aged
she's too friggin cute and you can tell she enjoys singing this song so much and the eye thing she does and she's so adorable like this woman is amazing. all the awards
Chloe Rose Agreed!
Well she wasn’t going to do the movie because she wasn’t originally going to sing the song.. so yeah I imagine she loves it lol
Richard hasnt changed *at all* in 33 years. How is that even possible
look at him, he is nosferatu!
When your head is constantly shaved, you don't age the same way. It's harder to notice.
bairdduvessa He always looked like Nosferatu.
rest assured, i meant it in a good way
No, he's not Nosferatu... he's an alien. Duh.
she completely goes in to her own little world singing this, do I see a slight sadness in her eyes? It's a very heart felt performance
Patricia Quinn is still adorable. OMG. The way she says science fiction.
I love Patricia Quinn. The one and only. She didn't have many speaking parts, but is in most scenes. She made a perfectly bitchy Magenta. Luv this woman!
This is not Patricia Quinn singing it but Magenta. It freaks me out, she's a stunning actress.
patricia quinn played magenta

+jtaylorblalock you didn't get it
You're right, ccosta7. she WAS Magenta...
ccosta7 She's actually playing the usherette when she sings this. Watch the orginal stage performance
It's nice she finally got to sing the song she was SUPPOSED to sing
Celeste Gardner
Well she originally sang this song in the original stage play
Just listen to the London Cast Recording.
She did sing the song, every night on stage. Richard only sang it once for the movie.... and he did smash it to be fair. People need to let things go after 46 years lol (p.s. I love PQ)

In the UK, Patricia reprised the role of both Magenta and the Usherette in 1994 for the whole year. That probably helps
Like many others, I adore this woman and this song. You can tell how much she enjoys singing it in the way she sounds slightly sad as the song reaches the end. She is Magenta and people can try, but they'll never be as good as Patricia Quinn. x
You can't help but watch the shaping of her lips to see if they move the same way they did in the original clip.
She wasn't singing in 'the original clip' it was Sir Richard O'Brian
Emma Aplin yes, but it was her lips
@@sydclem no they weren’t
@@karstenpuder3605yes they were
I met her today! Can confirm she is one of the most fabulous people I’ve ever met, a total dream ❤️
How is she doing? 🥺
She's singing it as magenta like I can tell that's magenta lol wonderful woman

She’ll always be iconic and gorgeous, she’s truly one of the most talented, amazing people on this planet!
I LOVED THIS! She is selling the show so well! From her singing, I believe that there is absolutely nothing better than going to the picture show. She is amazing!
richard o brien never ages
Nope
Muffin tabbycat He was very young when he did RiffRaff
Victor Mendoza I know, he was the original riff raff
Muffin tabbycat Well, it's pretty obvious he has done some good job with his face.
I can almost imagine what it must have been like to see her on stage in this role.
What a setting this must have put out for a totally unsuspecting audience. Cute, but a little weird, with barely a hint of what was to come.
One thing I love about Patricia is she has something about her eyes that are so....magnificent and of course her voice

Her smile is everything
She looks so happy to be performing this song again after so long, and so reminiscent of the day 33 years earlier
Arghhh I can't believe I was actually in England in 2006 and missed this :/
Patricia Quinn's smile is still incredibly contagious and gorgeous!
is That Anthony head singing as frank N Furter at the start?.....THAT IS AMAZING

I love the OLC album that Patricia sang this song on.
