NotSoGuff yeah, to bring rock back might be impossible. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the grunge scene was the last great stand rock had in U.S. culture. But if rock made a come back it would probably be alternative rock and it would need to be defining of a large amount of people of this generation.
@@bluesolace9052 Rock was still pretty fucking big up until 2010. Most groups were still actual bands, even if they were mostly emo and or pop punk. Metal was still pretty big too. That being said, the problem isn't that rock is dying. The problem is that people never want to accept change. Rock will never truly die. Much like how rock evolved from blues and even jazz, newer music can emerge from changes in how music is written. We may not get the classic sound of rock again, but there is still a chance that new exciting music inspired by elements of rock will emerge and take off.
@@richsackett3423 Guitar elitists like you are cancer, man. People like you (who I imagine must be an advanced player, if you're shitting on Post's playing here) take for granted the advanced techniques that took us YEARS to learn. So when you hear something that isn't as advanced, you go "wow, that's shit", instead of saying "hey, that's a LOT better than most people on this planet can do! Good for you!" People like you turn playing into a competition and ruin it for people trying to improve their playing, or who are trying to learn. And we wonder why the rock genre and instrumental playing is dying, lmfao.
@@NateAnderson69 You don't have to be an elitist to know when someone sucks. Basic competence will do. If you suck as bad as he does, go practice. Your "everybody gets a trophy" take on his playing is hilarious. He's SUPPOSED to be a professional musician. Or is what he makes not real music? Which is it? The electric guitar will live way past the popular life of rock (arguably died around 2007). What are you even blubbering about?
@@richsackett3423 That's true; when someone is clearly inexperienced, or isn't any good, it's self evident. That's why I am saying that you are objectively wrong about his ability to play. I've been playing for 11 years, and I can tell you with confidence that his ability to play, while not revolutionary or too advanced, is competent, and is intermediate in skill. Listen to the techniques he implores, his ability to use ghost notes, his rhythm, and his tone and phrasing. Not mindblowing, but nowhere NEARLY as bad as you are claiming. You're standards are out of whack. Which is funny, as the videos of bands you have shared on your channel (which indicates an element of personal enjoyment) have a relative degree of musical skill to what Post Malone is doing here - or at least the guitar playing is. Using your scathing approach; I've heard better sounds out of entry level stage bands in Humber, lmfao. So my question is, why are you being selective for your praise? As far as your "trophy" rebuttal, you've obviously missed the point of what I've been saying. I didn't advocate for equal praise between truly advanced players and people of Post Malones mid-to-high intermediate playing. What a limp attempt on your part. If you think guitar playing isn't dying, you need to do some research. New arrivals have been getting cut into thirds in the last two decades, respectively. I'm not wasting anymore time on someone who is obviously very hypocritical in what they consider "good playing", or with someone who makes a shallow attempt at a "gotcha" by attributing a message to my words that I never implied (again, your weak "trophy" and "not real music" attempt). You are a solid drummer. But you seem to know little in the way of anything else, lmao. Try being nicer to people at different playing levels, don't shame people for not being as advanced. Post Malone would’ve been frontman-guitarist of a rock band if kids today went out and formed bands.

Post actually tried out for a hardcore band named Crown The Empire. He can actually play guitar. I don’t get why people are talking so much crap here. Realistically, he is smiling and enjoying vintage highly praised gear, he isn’t buying it to smash it on the ground like a moron, he values the craft and the instrument. Maybe value the fact that he is a multi genre artist, and a decent dude, rather than stand on the high and mighty branch because of his choice of tattoos on his own body. Get over it people.

jldkrank nah if he releases a rock album it probably wouldn't sell well
NotSoGuff yeah, to bring rock back might be impossible. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the grunge scene was the last great stand rock had in U.S. culture. And now...it’s 2018 and nothing came close to Grunge’s popularity.
Rock doesn't need saving. Metallica, slipknot, a7x, 5fdp, shinedown, godsmack, kse, ozzy, etc, are doing fine keeping rock alive.
Rock and roll is still alive and well my dude!! You just have to look around instead of listening to the charts!

Then you'd flip over the next random kid's playing you hear at Guitar Center.
Good for you!"
People like you turn playing into a competition and ruin it for people trying to improve their playing, or who are trying to learn.
Reply or don't, I'm not wasting any more thought on you, lol.
