Ever since The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, I've always been a fan of the "idiot kids force unfathomably powerful force of nature into suburban living"
wont lie, if the kids' dynamic was more like them, itd be better. The main girl feels like a weird mix of billy/mandy in the domineering attitude + randomness, needs something to balance it out
I assume this is an easter egg as well: the planet Gigax is named after Gary Gygax, creator of Dungeons and Dragons, which has given inspiration for all sorts of fiction settings
Related fun fact: Tamriel, the continent in which the massively popular Elder Scrolls series takes place, was originally just the fantasy world used for the weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaigns held by the Bethesda Staff.

@@ryanrogers7452 I feel the idea is less about being a reviewer and more about using the kill count as a vehicle to talk about and explore the good, the bad, and the funny of the genre that doesn't get explored enough.
I love how James (in a way) admits that comedy is WAY more subjective than horror. This movie had me crying with laughter at times, but I TOTALLY get why many people would think it’s just super annoying. That said, no horror fan can deny that the practical FX here are incredibly fun.
After thinking about the movie a bit. Psycho Goreman really has a lot of character development. Let us summise. 1. He has a sexual awakening. 2. That is a lot more major character development than many other characters get EVER.

I consider that this film wanted to be like "Tucker & Dale vs. Evil", about satirize a film genre, making a different but fresh film. But "Tucker & Dale vs. Evil" knew what they wanted to make fun of, and HOW they wanted to. What's the problem with "Psycho Goreman"? That the writer knew and recognize the elements which were perfect to make fun of, but didn't know HOW to make them funny. It is more like a "Look, a [random thing]. What a weird thing, right?" joke. There aren't different jokes or plot. Hell, the funniest scene I can remember (Out of the Hunky Boys scene) is the post-credit scene! Where the leaders reveal a plan B at the situation of Psycho Goreman getting free: Suicide
I love the designs though It flops on trying to be like Tucker and Dale VS Evil Bit the effects, designs of the various creatures, and PG himself are all great Not the best movie story wise But a great movie to sit down and enjoy for the sheer chaos
Agree. I fucking hate "wow, isn't that strange?" humor. It'd be much funnier like the Flash Gordon film that is utterly nuts and cheesy and hell, but at NO POINT there's any wink wink to the audience, that was an utterly sincere film
James intro: welcome to the kill count, where we tally up the victims in all our *FAVORITE* horror movies. movies that James labelled: piles of shit.: "we are favorites?
I just wanna say, It goes under appreciated how much effort goes into scripts like this. From an English essay standpoint, I love that he is using words like divorce and other things to break up the monotony of what could be an average sounding review. So easy to just say "He killed them" or "Trying to take away the gem". You are a legend in many way James. Keep doing the good work!

OR DO I?!
PG is bi, pass it on
@@monsterenergypunk I’m pretty sure that’s cannon!!! 😍🏳️🌈
@@KillJoyJakeLovesHorror calm yourself Meat Bag.
Still waiting on “BOOOYYY” being added to the Dead Meat Shorts channel.
Mimi: "Psycho Goreman"
James: "Qu'est-ce que c'est"
Me: "fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better"
run run run run, run run run awayyyyyyyyyyy
Oh oh oh ohhhhh...ayayayaya
I lost my shit when he said “we stan a bi-curious king” 😂
Topped yourself again with that “Get to the numbers” gag for this one James
The fact that this movie was inspired by Guyver 2 Dark Hero makes me love it even more
“Don’t worry. BE WORRIED!” literally my favorite part >>>
15:03 my second favorite >>>
My favorite is "nice to meet u... PG: it better if u were dead"
@@shelbywilliams5912 drop the time when it was said
I never dislike a child in a movie as much as I hate Mimi. Also that ending scene was adorable
@Miguel Messina nah mimis worse
@Miguel Messina fair enough
James name-dropping Rich Evans is the most ambitious crossover of our generation
honestly a sibling staunchly refusing to admit their wrongs, even in the face of pure evil is super on point.
"I do not care for hunky boys!....*stares at a picture of a shirtless man*....or do I?"
The characters disappoint, but the kills and special effects don’t.
Except goreman, best character.
@@GabeIDK2 Yeah that’s my one exception.
The void was so intense for the last second half of the movie. My heart couldn’t take it. No real jump scares. Just suspense the whole time
I have to admit, I do love the tokusatsu-like visual style. Reminds me a lot of watching Power Rangers as a kid, and that's a nice nostalgia to have.
Says the person with an anime profile pic
@@AC-ey7qe yes, there's a lot of anime influenced by tokusatsu as well, just like Power Rangers.
As a giant blue floating head in a tube once said "Too much Pink energy is dangerous!"
I love the designs though
It flops on trying to be like Tucker and Dale VS Evil
Bit the effects, designs of the various creatures, and PG himself are all great
Not the best movie story wise
But a great movie to sit down and enjoy for the sheer chaos
disagree
Agree. I fucking hate "wow, isn't that strange?" humor. It'd be much funnier like the Flash Gordon film that is utterly nuts and cheesy and hell, but at NO POINT there's any wink wink to the audience, that was an utterly sincere film
Why didn’t he talk about how PG was dressed like Alan Grant
Noticed that immediately.
You mean like dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park 3?🤔
@Miguel Messina Ah! Ok then.
@Miguel Messina Right? After first noticing it, I hit the comments to make sure damn well I wasn't the only one.
That's why it is so familiar
James intro: welcome to the kill count, where we tally up the victims in all our *FAVORITE* horror movies.
movies that James labelled: piles of shit.: "we are favorites?
I just wanna say, It goes under appreciated how much effort goes into scripts like this. From an English essay standpoint, I love that he is using words like divorce and other things to break up the monotony of what could be an average sounding review. So easy to just say "He killed them" or "Trying to take away the gem". You are a legend in many way James. Keep doing the good work!
James, thank you so much for not blaming the actor for the over the top stuff with Mimi. You can tell she is doing exactly what she’s been told to do, and as you said, giving it her all.
James referencing Killer Queen Black makes me so happy
Fun Fact: Psycho Goreman is making an appearance in the Binding of Isaac Tabletop Game as a playable character.
Just did a check on this, and I love Ed McMillen so much for his work, this is insanely great
Glad you adressed the sponsors previous scandals. Feels reasuring knowing it's not blindly being promoted
James destroying this film should up the kills by at least 10😳😳
14:10 Kratos: *BO*- oh sorry I thought we all we’re just calling our *BOYS*
We definitely need to see the behind the scenes for the to the numbers gag
That’s one of the best to the numbers bit I have seen. Legendary.
