The EDM track he has used is called "Losing it" by Fisher. When he does retakes, it's basically a mash up/remix of other songs that he raps over. It's great to see him having fun in this one and loving the whole break down on the squidgame bits. Cool AF

Even without a record label, the Welsh musician Ren has developed a following of millions. People around the world have connected with his candour about his physical and mental health struggles - sending his new album to the top of the UK chart. ‘Sick Boi’ is rooted in his experience of living with psychosis and frustrations with the healthcare system.

Ren’s actual name is Ren. Crazy right? For recommendations folks will give you newer rap songs like “What you want” or “Genesis” but his last album has some excellent songs including “Ocean” with Eden Nash. Great reaction!
"Ocean" is great. Personally, i like "Humble" with Eden Nash even more, it's my pick-me-up song. "What you want" and "Genesis" are among my favorites from Ren, too. He's just so versatile and he got so many amazing songs. "Crutch" ft. Bibi is great (and heartbreaking) as well!
Fun reaction! Welcome to the rabbit hole! You'll find that Ren's beats are all over the place. It's part of what makes him fun or at least I think so. I've heard mixed reactions on this song from traditional rappers because the beat throws them off but there's no denying, Ren can Rap rap. However, he's also able to pull so many other styles out of his bag.
At 8:50 I think Ren let us know that he is a Disc Golf fan!!! "I'm about to BEAST MODE,.... I'm about to go McBeth " 6x time Disc Golf World Champion, Paul "Beast" McBeth. (2023)
This is all filmed in my city Brighton , great seeing him using familiar places , we are so proud of Ren in Brighton he has a huge following and he is so dam diverse and talented
The thing about him rapping in public like he doesn't care is he does a lot of "busking." You an see it on his channels, he does street performances. He's had to get comfortable with performing on sidewalks and in front of people who aren't necessarily there for him lol
Loved your reaction ❤. Ren Eryn Gill is his real name. Every thing he does just works. For starters…
Great reaction - this is the audio equivalent of an everything bagel so many textures and verbal morsels. The Stevie Wonder reference during "full ambition/competition/ammunition..." is meta-reference to "Pastime Paradise" where Stevie uses rhymes in choruses "Dissipation/race relations/Consolation/Segregation/Dispensation/Isolation/Exploitation/Mutilation/Mutation/Miscreation/Confirmation" Ren has layers... BTW since his name is Ren Erin Gill you can yell "ERIN!" next time he goes fast :D
As for suggestions you can’t go wrong with Ren, even his early demos are fire, but I want you to check out a song from his band The Big Push called Watch Out (live) they are on a street corner busking rolling out a brand new song and controlling a crowd of just random passersby like absolute rock gods
Neat reaction, I also really like the Stevie Wonder reference and if you think of the lyrics, following it with “repitition, repetition” is clever because it kinda describes how the lyrics of the song are structured.
Thanks for this one and look forward to more Ren on this channel! Next song? Too many to list - but to start - Rap - Genesis, Money Game 2 and if part 2 resonates Money Game 1 - is also worth-while! I ❤️ this song. The Hunger is Ren"s best rap song. The Hunger is a Frankenstein song where Ren made to flex all the different tools he will use to conquer the music world. The Hunger is Ren"s golden ticket.
He goes harder on Genesis. It’s a more “classic” kinda rap song - completely different vibe to this. This isn’t really my vibe but I love Ren and appreciate his artistry. His pen skills, production, flow, schemes and performance on everything he does is always next level. But yeah, Genesis is the one. Share your love for Stevie!

The reason why a lot of people suggest starting with Hi Ren is because that is what put him on the map and blew up on UA-cam. It is loved by many because of what it represents. It is his true story talking about the struggles as an artist combating his psychosis. The monologue at the end is true facts. The song has helped so many who also struggle and is very personal to them. Thus any ire you may have gotten from negative reactions. Don’t take it too personally.
