  • Setting the wedge in an axe is a simple concept but at times it doesn't work the way it is supposed to. Here is my two cents worth on a useful technique to bond an axe head to a handle. Enjoy!

    Another great video. I hope you've cataloged your tools. You have a fortune there that most kids cannot appreciate.

      Thank you. I guess I see these videos as an archive for the tools that are here. I’m saving them on an external drive as well. My thought was when I’m gone my children and grandchildren will be able to revisit these to find out about them. Whether or not they’re that interested is yet to be seen. Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend.

    Great video. I needed this. Measure, make, and mark the wedge before hanging the head. I think I just realized one of my mistakes. Thank you.

    Very instructive video ToolScouter! You provided several specific tips to address some of the handle hanging issues we all have encountered. Now I want to go rehandle an axe to try them out! I especially liked the tip about the proper angle of the head on the handle. Thank you!

    Great tip thanks . I tend to make my kurfs to tight and my wedge tends to bounce so maybe this will help as well.

    • @toolscouter
      @toolscouter  4 місяці тому +1

      I hope you’re able to fix that. One thing that might help with that is to thin your wedge. If the wedge is too thick, it will have a tendency to want to bounce back out. Good luck and thanks for coming by. have a great weekend.

    Could you do a couple videos on hanging hammer handles? Maybe on with reusing the original handle and then one where you pick a handle that aren't original. I have a couple hammers from my grandfather and great grandfather. I really would like to use them again but the handles are loose and I would hate to tear them up.

      You might start with this video on removing and rehanging a hammer. Short Handled Ball Peen Hammer ua-cam.com/video/eiFp6DLamus/v-deo.html Soon I’ll put a new handle on a hammer head. Keep an eye out for that one and have a great day.
