Great job. My only concern was the cervelo logo/stencil - it did not look parallel with the down tube. Was that deliberate, or is it deceptive due to the shape of the tube?
Thanks! The ”tubes” are shaped in a challenging way, and I tried to get them On in a way that’s suitable for the geometry. So I didn’t aim for them to be perfectly aligned. 👍
The overall result is nice for DIY. However, the basis of the result is surface preparation. Deeper scratches and dents, especially in highly visible places, were filled with putty (on the seat tube and head tube, for example), since I'm going to have to do so much with it ;-)
Thank you. I did fill up som larger scratches and ”holes” with putty. However, the smaller are really hard to get by with putty. I would go for a filler instead and try to add layers and then sand. 👍
@@MYnextDIYbikePROJECT I dunno, have you ever seen any bodyworks using spray can to paint vehicles? Do you think that Cervèlo utilize spray can to paint their frames? Spray can is generally for small repairs. For a job like this a spray gun with a good compressor and a good quality 2K coat is the minimum requirement... a second requirement is a generaly ability in doing the job, but at least for this I guess you are a good start :)
@@techvigator If you look around, there is a huge community painting bike frames, at home, with spray cans. There are even specific brands of spray cans for bike paint, not just touch ups. I have seen videos of people doing automotive paint with spray cans. However there is a big difference in painting a thin (or even a wide) bike frame compared to big automotive panels. And no, I don’t think professional painters use cans, but I’m not professional and for DIY cans is a very good alternative. And for the 2k clear, it’s what I use.
And even with all that shiny paint at the end of the day it’s still a $300 cost cheap sweatshop made cookie cutter frameset sold to gullible fools for several thousand dollars. 😆😀
