Just finished this DLC the other day for the first time. My first option at the end I let him kill Olgeird cause he pissed me off in the flashbacks lol. Decided Id go to bed and try the other option tmro. All night I kept thinking. How the fuck Am I supposed to fight a god? kept questioning what id have to do to "defeat" him. I was thinking maybe some sort of puzzle id have to solve, cause no way in hell Am i gona be able to fight him 1v1.... A riddle was perfect
Gaunter is honestly my fondest memory of all of Witcher 3. I know the general consensus is that Blood and Wine is the superior DLC due to how enormous it is, but the story in B&W didn't interest me at all. Whereas I was genuinely interested in HoS's story. Plus, I'm still traumatized from that goddamn Groundskeeper.
Best character in a video game ive came across in quite a while. I spent days thinking "How the hell am I supposed to defeat this guy" no way in Hell am beating a God in a normal 1v1 boss battle. You know your antagonist is superb when you genuinely fear him.
I think he was just some sort of powerful demon. I remember searching for some information on him but didnt get much more than him being based on European folk lore.
