The puzzle isnt hard its just tedious because if you fuck up you now have to actually plot the shit out since not all pieces turn togther and you will turn one in another group when you turn it...its just time consuming and im not trying to devote rubiks cube level thinking to a damn game

15k depraved idol and I'm on my first play through ever on standard for context. I got an autosave when I landed on the island with this puzzle so u can load ur latest autosave and follow video. U can manual save just in case.
You just have to pay attention to how the center and the ends rotate. Took me a bit to figure that out once I noticed it was easy. This is on hardcore mode.
I guess the places of the pieces ether differ on difficulty, or when & the order u place them, cuz i placed them as i got them & the placements of yours 0:08 isn't the same as mine

Thanks so much! I’ve gotta say, I was really realllyy enjoying RE4 remake. I still am, but this puzzle was the final straw for me. The puzzles were grating on me up till this point, but I could tolerate them. This one really pissed me off with how hard it was. Puzzles in games shouldn’t completely halt you in your track, waste heaps of your time and get you to give up and look up a guide on how to do it. That’s just dumb game design imo. On top of that. I’ve just found out that heaps of the map is now permanently locked off from me because I’ve played too far into the story. That’s so retarded. There was no indication or communication that would happen what so ever and I’ve lost out on several treasures because of it. The game is literally not letting me play it. I know that later on the merchant literally says to you “make sure to tie up loose ends before continuing”, but I think that’s dumb as well. For something as important and ENTIRE run ruining like locking off areas of the map, I think having the only indicator of that be a single fucking line from the merchant is moronic and cheap. I understand that they want you to feel immersed, but for something that important I don’t give a fuck, I literally want a tutorial image that comes up on my screen and pauses the game to tell me that if I continue down a path/ open a door that certain areas will be closed off. It’s such an easy way to solve an issue that has ruined entire runs for players I’m baffled as to why they didn’t just include it. In saying all of that, RE4 still is one of the best games I’ve played in recent years. The gameplay and non-puzzle related tasks you do is just so god damn enjoyable. So crazy that with a game as polished as this they made huge errors like those as well.

Y’all want to hear something insane? It was easier for me to get the puzzle to look like it did at 0:25 then solve from there. Idk it just worked for me.
Actual tutorial for solving the puzzle: Once you understand how the picture is supposed to look, position the image you'd like to manipulate into the CENTER hexagon. Once the hexagon you want to move is centered, use one of the three movements to reposition it until it's in the desired spot. The puzzle practically solves itself... I'm dying at these comments saying it's too hard or badly designed. We had puzzles like this in elementary school.
So I’ve run through the game 3 times already. The first time I did the game on standard and completed the puzzle in 3 seconds because I understood the puzzle and saw that I only needed to make 3 moves to solve it. My second run on hardcore the puzzle was jumbled in a totally different manner. I spent an hour moving pieces and racking my brain on which piece needed to go where because not only were the pieces in the wrong spot but they were also the wrong orientation. Understanding the puzzle is easy when half of it is solved unbeknownst to you. It actually happens to be quite a difficult puzzle when all the pieces are exactly where they shouldn’t be. You have to stress your ability to take mental frames of what you see so you can remember how to get the puzzle back to how you had it moments before while still moving the location of your out of place pieces. Much like a rubix cube but on a 2D plane. Since there are 7 pieces there’s 127 possible places/orientations for each piece to be, not exactly elementary for some.
This puzzle is ridiculous. I hate it so much. I've been stuck on it for freaking 20 minutes on my first play through it and another 35 minutes on my second. It's awful I'm sorry and I hope they never make a stupid puzzle like this again.

Saved ashley before doing this and now I can't return for some dumb reason with no logic. Better save every 3 minutes in case you miss something. This game is ridiculous on that. 9/10 -> 6/10
@@terryt346 Even with that, it's not quite clear, you could figure he says that because you are about to leave the village soon enough, however that bridge giving access to the lake being collapsed for no reason was an unpleasant surprise. Almost as if devs didnt feel like making animations for ashley on the boat, so they just cut off that area completely.
On assisted/standard the solution is left, up. On hardcore/professional it is right, right, left, left, up.

Just load the latest saved game, it should automatically auto save at the point where you park your boat, right before you insert the hexagon piece

After put all 3 piece together, move the pieces on the left once, and once on top, the end
If you want to slove it using this video you have to start the puzzle in the same configuration as this person did and just copy the steps
