What works best in this scenario is when you don’t understand enough about a topic, you transition to a vaguely related story to change the topic. Example: “I like baking” “Oh, you like baking? Cool, you know, my grandmother is actually an incredible baker, in fact back during 1975 in Soviet Russia…”
That strategy only works if the second party can/is willing to answer open ended questions. In this case, it ended up being "I like baking" "cool" "..." "..." *deafening awkward silence intensifies*. This brings back memories I wish to forget.

One thing that a lot of fans don`t know is that prior to gen 3, there wasn`t really a regular get together, so they`re not very close compared to other gens, aside from Subaru and Choco (Trio with Luna). They also have a lot of members with health problems, such as Ayame and Shion with health conditions, and probably 2 of the most introverted people in Holo.
Shion and Aqua also have their segments together though not as many compared to Subaru and Choco-sensei. Until one day Gura snatched Shion away and marry her. That cunning self proclaimed First Mate of Senchou's. 😂 Note: Senchou declares Aqua as her First Mate in the UMISEA shorts and it's also a pun (First Maid).

It's one thing to do things naturally with no pressure as opposed to doing them with an audience and a spotlight on you. It reminds me of a time when I used to work at a call center and they made us do a mock call with co-workers: I could handle a customer just fine but with a co-worker it was something like this, with the inevitable laughter and awkwardness.
This is such a freaking mood! As an introvert myself, I also suffer from a horrible lack of conversation topics. Which is I tend to put on an aloof and stoic facade. And rarely I've been able to maintain long conversations with other people (Unless they're extroverts, in which I tend to mostly listen and throw something to complement what they said). Didn't know Ayame was such an introvert, though. And this also makes me wonder how they're able to come up with topics for their streams.
They have a lot of time to think up of topics beforehand. Only problem is to keep it going which is no problem because their respective Holofans always have witty remarks and such which keeps them talking. "No Onion!"
funny story, I live here in the philippines and im that classic introvert who cant hold a 2 min conversation, But every lunch there's a vendor who passes by our house and sells this steamed corn with condense milk or something, My dad always tells me to buy him 1 serving, So i go out and i always start with "Hi, 1 serving pls" and so he goes and puts the serving in a small plastic bag, but its awkward so i always try to start the convo with "Its hot out here today isnt it" and he jusy replies with "yea it is" then gives me the bag and I pay I always do this, same convo for everytime he passes by till 1 time he used it against me, I was like "1 serving pls" and he replies with "Its hot here today isnt it" and then i just blanked out and waited for the bag and paid
As an introvert, the best way to continue/maintain a conversation I've found is find something you or the other party is really passionate about and try to steer the conversation towards it. If nothing comes to mind, just keep asking questions about them until you find something interesting. The biggest conversation killer is not showing/having interest.
Well this sums up two introverts first convo or any convo without prompt. Basically me. Meanwhile my brother managed to secure business deal with strangers he just met on a plane while I'm sleeping next to him. Still verbal agreement but even if it's just nonsense he still got their phone number and the business adress.

This is such a freaking mood! As an introvert myself, I also suffer from a horrible lack of conversation topics. Which is I tend to put on an aloof and stoic facade. And rarely I've been able to maintain long conversations with other people (Unless they're extroverts, in which I tend to mostly listen and throw something to complement what they said).
Didn't know Ayame was such an introvert, though.
And this also makes me wonder how they're able to come up with topics for their streams.
They have a lot of time to think up of topics beforehand. Only problem is to keep it going which is no problem because their respective Holofans always have witty remarks and such which keeps them talking.

can relate to them, sometimes it's just hard to make a conversation when I don't really have a topic in the first place...

funny story, I live here in the philippines
and im that classic introvert who cant hold a 2 min conversation, But every lunch there's a vendor who passes by our house and sells this steamed corn with condense milk or something, My dad always tells me to buy him 1 serving,
So i go out and i always start with
"Hi, 1 serving pls"
and so he goes and puts the serving in a small plastic bag, but its awkward so i always try to start the convo with
"Its hot out here today isnt it" and he jusy replies with "yea it is" then gives me the bag and I pay
I always do this, same convo for everytime he passes by till 1 time he used it against me, I was like "1 serving pls" and he replies with
"Its hot here today isnt it"
and then i just blanked out and waited for the bag and paid
As an introvert, the best way to continue/maintain a conversation I've found is find something you or the other party is really passionate about and try to steer the conversation towards it. If nothing comes to mind, just keep asking questions about them until you find something interesting. The biggest conversation killer is not showing/having interest.

Well this sums up two introverts first convo or any convo without prompt. Basically me.
Meanwhile my brother managed to secure business deal with strangers he just met on a plane while I'm sleeping next to him. Still verbal agreement but even if it's just nonsense he still got their phone number and the business adress.

As I said, I don’t need to. As in I am not going to guess. You want to be shut in? That’s not healthy but I don’t mind.
You are an introvert? Nothing wrong there. So am I.
But whether you go to work or not? It does not matter. Yes, you have to earn money one way or another to survive or you depend on others for money, whichever is the answer, it does not matter to me.
Just as long as you are comfortable enough with a work at home type of job, just as long as you can put money on the table for yourself, it does not matter to me that you are a shut in.
In other words, a freelancer. But yes or no, it does not matter to me. Just as long as you are able to live comfortably and survive through the day. That’s all that matters.
There's a difference being able to talk on your own and talking with another...
