My wife has, believe it or not, become the opposite! At first, she thought it was worthless and a total waste of time and money. Now, she hits me up at least once a week with new things to print. 🤣
I made 3d printed gift tags for my presents this year, and printed one of those "Our First Pandemic" Christmas tree bauble designs for my uncle's family, since they traditionally have a big xmas tree. All were well received. Also sent a printed bookmark in a Christmas card to a friend of mine.
Printed gifts for your significant other is entirely dependent on what you're giving. I spent the month leading up to my partners birthday making pokeballs and several multi color pokemon, and she freaking loved it.
If you know anyone that eats oui yogurt often, making them lids for the glass containers that comes in could be a cool gift. Especially if they are fans of containers (like many people are). Ice seen several designs out there on various sites for them.
Keep up the great content Uncle Jessy! Just got my first printer, but I've been watching your videos for years now and really excited to go back through them again now that I can print props!
I thought up the perfect Christmas gifts to print for my family and friends... and then proceeded to screw up the settings on my 3D printer before I could get to printing to them, turning those into "belated Christmas gifts" instead. I totally forgot about the collapsible lightsaber model, though, I think I know someone who'd love one of those... myself!
Analysts estimate that a PLA bottle could take anywhere from 100 to 1,000 years to decompose in a landfill. Another issue with PLA is that, because it is of different origin than regular plastic, it must be kept separate when recycled, lest it contaminate the recycling stream.
The 3D Maze box was PERFECT for my daughter's gift certificates. :-) I ended up printing 2 for the 2 she got from her grandparents. :-) My wife did get a 3D Printed gift. The Aladdin's Lamp from Nikko Industries. It looks REALLY good. I'll paint it and make it look great. She's been looking for a nice Aladdin's lamp for her Disney Movie collection of nick knacks. :-) She was really happy about it. But, I don't print her a lot of things.
I ended up printing some Christmas miniatures and handpainting them for coworkers! They loved the results. If I end up getting a prusa or elegoo Saturn, I'll definitely print bigger minis and what I've seen in this video. Have a wonderful holiday J! The specific mini I'm gifting my coworkers and friends is a Christmas shroomie, free off of myminifactory.
It's really hard to find STL's that people will receive as something more than just a hung of monochrome plastic. This year I'm making custom lithophones, articulated Sheron dragons, egg shaped dragon boxes with screw on lids, and Minecraft earth block boxes with a removable grass lid.
I feel like 3D printing can fall into the DIY arena depending upon someone's fabrication skills. For instance, these all still have layer lines. It is like using a new lathe to make someone a wooden bowel that has bit marks. You have to really think about the details. Does finish matter? Can you fabricate something as good or better than what you could buy? Are you 3D printing gifts purely for the purpose of 3D printing? The thought is what matters, and putting more time and money into something inferior to commercial alternatives just because you wanted to print something would not leave a good taste in someone's mouth.
I have the neptune 3 max. Can you help me with the settings to print figures faster? Pls. I printed 3 pieces about 4 inches big and took 15 hours. Lol.
Uncle Jessy. I had a thought. So when you IPA gets dirty from cleaning your resin. Or what ever cleaning agent you use. I have not tried this, but I think I will. Have you ever tried running your left over solution into a portable water filter? Just wondering if you can not only clean your IPA(insert your solution here), but reclaim your solution?
To be honest i think the most basic thing is would be awesome gift to because you worked on it did it yourself and made just for him/her by you and that makes it better then buying it in a shop or downloading a file. That saber still awesome. I will get one if i have another filament
Awesome would love to see it! A friend of mine made some dueldisks from the show and they have to be most acccurate disks I have ever seen. Better thanthe proplicas
Do you have the settings you used for any of these prints or a video to help with settings? I just got a mega zero 2.0 and having a hard time understanding the settings using ultimaker cura. You have real Smooth prints with barely noticeable print lines. 🙏🏻
I don't own a 3d printer yet but I'm interested in one. Was looking at phrozon transform. What do you think you obviously know alot about this machines.
Enjoy your vids. Just got my first printer last week, a longer lk1. It's been a serious learning curve and took a ton of tinkering to get it to start printing decent. I've found that it prints best around at speeds around 35. Is that normal?
That's on the slower side, but not too far off average for typical materials like PLA or PETG. You might be able to go faster by spending some time calibrating other printer settings like acceleration, retraction, e-stepping, flow etc.
would the Prusa Mini be a good choice for printing item for cosplay like a helmet and or armor? Or is the MK3S+ a better choice? for me the Mini is more in my budget range, and I am also a beginner at 3D printing any help will be much appreciated please and thank you.
4:14 i started realizing this when i started to become a teen everyone just got me cash Which isn’t bad its just disappointing and a reminder that I’m not a kid anymore ok teenagers are still kids but you get what i mean I’m 16 but i still like toys and stuff animals I don’t play with them much anymore but there still important ok sorry the money lock. Puzzle is cool
Hey man, thank you for your videos, which 3d printer and material would you recommend me for a first time if i wanna have it in an apartment without much ventilation if i wanted to make minis and stuff related?
Hey Uncle Jessy I been watching you for a while I just wondering if you know anyone who has tested the MALYAN SLA LCD Resin 3D Printer High Resolution Auto Leveling Wi-Fi Support 4K Resolution LCD Touch Monochrome Curing Screen All Metal Frame Parallel Led Black Larger Printing Size 192x120x230mm. It is a mid size resin printer that seems to have a self filling resin tank. I would really love to see you test it and tell us what you think. Or send a link to anyone else who has may be tested it. I was thinking about buying one and I would really like to see how this thing performs before I spend the money. Thank you and love you videos.
I took it a step further with my brother. He wanted a gift card. So I entombed it entirely inside a print. I look forward to him smashing it open. And my girlfriend loves when I print stuff for her. But then again that's mostly props for her cosplay.
I just got an Ender 3, what do you use for slicing and what settings to get such clean prints? Mine seem like they’re missing parts of layers, have some odd bumps here and there and stringing (stringing mostly fixed by cues but print times oddly drastically increase)
I am kind of upset, EVERY video for 3d printing - ohhh wife doesn't like, doesn't approve, annoyed... I am a wife, and I bought a 3d printer as a present to my hubby, I see your videos, I get into it and I want more 3d printers :) And I am not alone! So stop this male "oh my wife is not cool with it" nonsense. Enough
I am somewhat annoyed by anything related to Among Us right now. Yes, it is a good game but the only reason everyone is playing it and referencing it is for the clout.
I so badly want to justify owning a printer but 99% of the things people print looks like it came out of one of those 25 cent vending machines next to the gum ball machines. Would you honestly buy any of that crap outright? No.
My wife has, believe it or not, become the opposite! At first, she thought it was worthless and a total waste of time and money. Now, she hits me up at least once a week with new things to print. 🤣
Yeah, its like an adiction

If my spouse spent time designing and printing something for me on a 3D Printer, you better bet I'm going to love it, and I do...

The puzzle cylinder was a great last minute print. Definitely one to keep around for when needed. Thanks!
I put a cheap LED flashlight in the collapsible lightsaber.
nice to see my models featured here
Fantastic work on those files!
My wife feels the same way about 3d printed gifts lolol. Wasnt a good valentine's day!
hahaha been right there with you. A lough we still have a 3D Printed Red Love sign thing i printed a few years back in our bedroom

Glad to see you showing off the Prusa Mini!

Fantastic Idea!
Keep up the great content Uncle Jessy! Just got my first printer, but I've been watching your videos for years now and really excited to go back through them again now that I can print props!
Huge congrats! Yer gonna love it. For sure a learning experience with any machine and the more you print the better you get at refining settings etc

Custom 3d prints with electric components, or even a build it yourself set like steam punk mechanical stuff
I made Marvel-themed fairylights out of clear resin as a gift and the recipient loved them :D
Oh wow! Now that idea sounds amazing
>3d printed Christmas gifts that don't suck

LITHOTHANE CHRISMAS BAUBALLS SAVED MY BACON LAST YEAR

How on earth can you get that Mandalorian to print in 4-6 hours, my Ender 3 is saying 18 hours at 0.12mm? What settings did you use Jessy?
maybe he used thicker shells and less filling
My wife loves personal gifts designed her a phone stand. She loves it
Amazing video Uncle Jessy. You gave me some other idea. Merry Christmas to you and YOUR Family
Merry X-Mas to you and yours as well!

Another great video Grandpa Jessy
Happy holidays man
Thanks you as well! Almost through 2020🙃
I appreciate the reply made my day
please share your settings for the lightsaber, them jokers are not east to print, even if the test print was perfect.
I have the neptune 3 max. Can you help me with the settings to print figures faster? Pls. I printed 3 pieces about 4 inches big and took 15 hours. Lol.
Card kit models are also cool gifts.
Tippi Tree is so fun! Bought the files the first day of the drop!
Such an awesome set of files! Cant wait to play it with my boys. Going to start printing another set of leaves

not me watching this loooong before Christmas just in case
Merry Christmas and happy new year my friend
Those mandalorian look so clean! What settings did you use?
Unless you print a dragon that can be posed and your wife (and friends) are into dragons.
Dragons for the win!
I tried that. Putting my wife's face on the dragon was a regrettable decision.
How long acrylic paint lasts on 3d printed pla material?
With sanding it can last a pretty long time sorry I am almost 2 years late 😅
4:33 that’s what I did with my puzzle as well, just yank it open.
Would have been pretty easy to add some lights to the eyes of that power moon. Would also make a decent followup video ... 😏 Just sayin'. 🎅
My significant other loves 3D printed things.
Whats the printer used in this video?
I designed a deck box for my friends for yu-gi-oh with a magnetic door and tray for cards and dice
Awesome would love to see it! A friend of mine made some dueldisks from the show and they have to be most acccurate disks I have ever seen. Better thanthe proplicas

Great video Jessy, like the Starwars things...
Sadly the Among us figures are no longer available on Thingiverse :(
Thanks jessy for this video I now know some cool things to print now

Looks sick! Thumbs up for quality!
Gift idea: 3D printed vase, a load of sand to weigh it down and add artificial flowers.
How are you printing this stuff so quickly?
I guess I lucked out I printed out a character from Zelda and my SO loves it.
what character?
@@mrexpendable1232 the baby guardian

I just hand over my failed prints to my significant other and he loves fiddling with them!
Great ideas/designs ☺️
Thanks for sharing 👍☺️

the mando statues look like they would need supports
Yea, for me the best gift for every ocasion is always cash :D
so a print for my mother of the keg tree would be a *bad* idea
Is this the gun metal pla guy from zyltech?
🤘😬
@@UncleJessy that filament is legendary dude
what r your settings been struggling with getting good results on the ender 3
If your S/O doesn't like gifts made from your hobby that's kind of idk an ick feeling
Wait, the mandalorian figure cape printed without supports?
It's attached to the legs and it doesn't have great overhangs.
Jessy just curious but are you a texan?
A bit of paint and they will never know it's printed.
You look like kevins dad from home alone 😂

Considering printing off that mandalorian so I can paint it. I'm a miniature painter BTW
Man sounds like Andy from The Office
Tippi Tree!!!! so much fun
Hey! Where are your Grogu prints!? (no, he is NOT 'baby Yoda')
Dude, the paint on the powermoon was just too sloppy.... ROFL The kid was probably over the moon right!
the thingiverse links are dead!
Can you do it again in 2021
I'm printing a harry potter chess set from thingiverse for my niece who is nuts about harry potter
Oh that sounds like a great print idea!
I'm sure the adult male that is showing off all his action hero memorabilia behind him has a lot of good stuff to say
