i’m in gilbert Az ( 9b also.). I bought three plumerias in the spring after watching you. ( cancun, lipstick and pacific pearl). As you know it was a LONG HOT summer. So far they are all thriving being planted in the ground. Any videos you do about ANY plants in this area would be great...... as you know it is a tricky climate ......

You must love plumerias a lot to go thru all troubles during summer and winter ( almost 2/3 of the year)… hope this year of 2023 you don’t have extreme heat like in TX. I started growing plumerias (4 in pots only) so far I just enjoy the shapes n their leaves, 😢.
Plumeria are beautiful! Summer 2023 was brutal for Arizona. 31 consecutive days above 110 in the Phoenix area. The plumeria doesn't mind the heat but does need shade from the direct afternoon sun to avoid sun scald. I've since moved to grow all plumeria in containers except my huge Inca Gold for ease of care. The winter is what does them in. A combination of rain and cold (30s and below) easily rots them out.

Hi. It's difficult to know what's wrong with it without any details. Too much sunlight exposure, too much/little irrigation, and poor drainage can each lead to the decline and death of the plant. You could try transplanting it to a container consisting of 1 part peat moss to 1 part perlite if the plant still has roots and you suspect drainage from the heavy clay is the issue. I recommend mastering them in container culture before considering putting them in the ground. The biggest challenge you will face with in-ground plumeria is the winter. Cold wet conditions kill plumeria. Hope that helps

My plumerias are losing leaves randomly. One day a big leaf, another day a mid size leaf, and another day one of the smallest leaves turn to yellow and then fall off. If it was the oldest leaves it wouldn't be a concern to me, my small leaves make make worry. What's their problem?. The soil is a mix of pit-moss and potting soil. Not to mention that some dots appear on yellow leaves.
Are you in the Phoenix area? We are having a historic heat wave and many plants are struggling even plumeria. My plumeria in the direct sun is getting yellow leaves from the sun bleaching the leaves and then dropping. You may want to provide some 50-60% shade to prevent the solar bleaching of the leaves. The spots could also be a sign of nutrient deficiencies. I often see deficiencies on my plumeria in the heat of the summer like pale leaves but don't plan on correcting them by fertilizing until we are out of the extreme heat as fertilizing now will only burn the plant more.
@@EnlightenmentGarden I am in eastern Turkey. I have put the pots in a tree shade while they can get sun in the morning. no leaf burn is seen, i know what it's like. They were very happy in winter because i had put them in home next to window. they were thriving in a way that they bloomed at the age of second year from seed germination and the main stems grow more that 40 cms. From the first day i took them out, they started weird signs such as losing flower buds, losing leaves, stunted growth and so on. I was hoping they are gonna grow well in summer but now they're quite disappointing. Also few weeks ago i fertilized them with nitrogen fertilizer. now i don't know whether i am over watering or the whole thing is because of our climate. day-night temperature difference is over 17 degrees.
Sorry about that--I should edit that out as it was a mistake. Plumeria like a ph of 5.5-6 and the native soil in our area has a ph of around 8 so we need to lower it

At 6:30 you say plumeria like a higher pH but I assume this was an accidental mistake because everything you’re adding is a bit acidic?
