Why not just send in troops to guard the aid that is already on the ground from being destroyed by the Israelis. That aid comes from countries who aren't actively helping Israel to unalive the Palestinians.
American's haven't stepped on land therefore they aren't really involved, but if that pier is attacked. It will give the option of mobilization or retreat, and the administration won't choose retreat.

The humanitarian aid will arrive to the pier by ship. How will the humanitaria aid be transported from the ship into Gaza on the ground? Where are the trucks needed for distribution into GAZA?

So, what happens when the pier comes under fire?
There have been images released online seemingly showing at least 1 C-RAM 20mm anti air autocannon and at least 1 M-LID multiple medium air defense system deployed on the coast in front of the pier. As for defending against ground attacks idk, air probably takes priority.
In terms of options, the UK currently is operating a type 45 destroyer in the Red Sea which is a ship specifically designed for an anti air role. The current operation is unrelated to this floating pier but as the UK is already using this pier to deploy aid I could see redeploying this ship to support the US in defending this pier being a realistic option if such an requirement ever became necessary.
The first two aid trucks is a distraction. And who knows what their planes are but it’s scary and the innocent people of gaza are very vulnerable at this point

The actual figure for annual fraud conducted is unknown but would realistically be considerably greater than this. If the US wanted to get more bang for their buck in their military spending this is where they would start, not with the axxing of a $300 million project in support of UN efforts that furthers the US image of international influence and control. This is not individual people kind of money, to you or I, 300 million is unimaginable but if you look at any piece federal spending it's going to have "illion" at the end of it. The US is after all a country with more than 300 million people. I would argue that this pier projects more global power than say, building and maintaining a pair of F-35 jets for 8 years.

Israel's idf along with the people (off duty soldiers) bring their kids along to block the aid and destroy it. Sounds like a joke but they actually lift and place huge rocks onto the roads in front of these aid trucks to stop them from driving into Gaza. They openly state that they want the Palestinians to starve. Look it up. They even beat up other Jews who stand and try to stop the people from destroying the aid
