I don't know if anyone in the chat mentioned but this performance is actually a mashup of their first and final songs Ex Wives and Six. It would definitely be interesting to see you react to their individual songs however you should know that in the cast recording some of the characters are voiced by different people than those performing here
From what I have heard about the queens in the musical, they have all been based off different female pop stars. So Aragon is based off Beyonce, Boleyn is Avril Lavigne, Seymour is Adele, Anna of Cleves is Rihanna/Nicki Minaj (I've seen different statements), Howard is Ariana Grande/Britney Spears, Parr is Alicia Keys
I'm not sure if it's perhaps the Broadway version that Boleyn is inspired by Avril, but originally and all of her music is based on Lily Allen and Kate Nash (This has been spoken about in multiple interviews). But I obviously don't know if Lily Allen is well known in the states, so that might be a reason as to why they are now saying she's based on Avril as Lily Allen and Kate Nash are very British singers (with their music and humour)
@@andrewgardiner2896 The last chorus of "Don't Lose Your Head" definitely takes inspiration from Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" so that's where that inspiration comes from. The first chorus is definitely Lily Allen-esque. In terms of Boleyn's personality, I'm not too familiar with Kate Nash or Lily Allen in that regard so maybe that's where it comes from.

The silently deeper and fuller voices were the divorce so they were probably considered more mature, the more pitchy and strained vocies were beheaded, and they were accused of having sex out of wedlock, the airy one was full of love (died) , and the last one, (Survived) was a mix of all because she didn't can divorce but was almost killed. Also at the start they didn't blend so well together because they are 'competing' with each other to be the lead of the band but at the end (which is also the last song) they stopped competing.
I’d absolutely love to watch you react to each queen’s individual song!! I think it’d give a bit more insight as to why they sound the way they do, since it really works for their respective characters ☺️
I think the blend at the beginning might actually supposed to be like that? One of the ongoing themes of the musical is the fact that at the beginning, the queens are all very separate. They're all trying to prove that they're the best, all against each other. However, by the end of the musical (As this is a mashup between the first and final song), they are expressing that they are, for lack of better words, better as a group. Basically, girl power! But anyway, I think maybe the blend is intentional but I wouldn't know.
No that harmony is normally tight when they perform normally on the west end. They had did a show right before this performance so they were definitely exhausted.
This is one of the first casts created for stage, some of the original songs were sung by other people (Natalie as Jane and Aimee as Katherine H. is same as recorded), but I think one of the best things this cast did was a natural practice of the finale song ‘Six’ at Dance Attic. It seems like they’d just been practicing and it’s all very cohesive as a group.
5:37 omg millie jay jay i can’t- lmao. Also k howard is supposed to sound hurt and mean like kinda like she has been through so much she ain’t gonna be a sweetie
You realize, of course, that these are Henry VIII's six wives singing? That's why the last one sings she's a survivor: Catherine Parr was Henry's sixth wife, and outlived him. The other ones are Catherine of Aragon (first wife, wearing gold in this), who Henry divorced to marry Anne Boleyn (wearing green), who Henry got beheaded so he could marry Jane Seymour (wearing silver), who died of puerperal fever giving birth to the male heir he so fervently desired. Henry then signed a marriage treaty to be wed to the German Anna of Cleves (wearing red here) after he was given a portrait of her, but when faced with her he didn't like her looks, so he annulled their marriage to get married to Katherine Howard (wearing pink here), only to get her beheaded on trumped-up charges (just like he did with her cousin, Anne Boleyn) to marry Catherine Parr (wearing blue here), who buried him, after having already buried two husbands before him. Fun facts: Henry VIII had known Catherine Parr since her early childhood, as she was his first wife's (so, practically, also his) goddaughter. When Henry died, Catherine Parr married Thomas Seymour, Jane Seymour's brother. She died of puerperal fever (like her deceased sister-in-law), after giving birth to a daughter. Before getting married, Catherine of Aragon and Henry VIII were in-laws, since Catherine had married Henry's older brother, Arthur, who'd died shortly after. Both Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour were ladies-in-waiting to Catherine of Aragon. Catherine of Aragon's maid-of-honour Bessie Blount was one of Henry's royal mistresses (the other most famous one being Mary Boleyn, Anne Boleyn's sister), and gave him a son. Through her maternal grandfather, Jane Seymour was a descendant of King Edward III's son Lionel of Antwerp, 1st Duke of Clarence. Because of this, she and Henry VIII were fifth cousins. She also shared a great-grandmother, Elizabeth Cheney, with his second and fifth wives, Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard. Katherine Howard was a lady-in-waiting to Anna of Cleves.
You should check out a few megasixs with the different Alts and understudies . They are pretty short so it would be easy to to multiple. There are a lot on UA-cam.
I really like this musical, and I hope you check out more of it. There's a Broadway cast but I prefer you'd check out this West End cast more since they're the originals
I've seen comments on other videos saying that they shouldn't have casted black actresses due to historical accuracy and it's upsetting because DAMN they're incredible. The whole cast is amazing, so I don't see why they have to nitpick. Just enjoy the damn song.
That’s hilarious given they aren’t wearing historically accurate costumes, singing in historically accurate lexicon, and are in a girl band. So people who think this looking for an excuse to just cast it white.
I love how you always go into such detail in all of your videos! So helpful for me to learn as a singer who can’t afford singing lessons right now! Thank you so much! 🙋🏽 💖✨ Xx
I think I get Seymour’s singing style because her color is white and grey so her costume looks like a ghost because she died. And she sounds softer than the other ones and it reminds me of a ghost.
As a six stan- Aimie, Millie and Lexi specifically (Howard, Boleyn, Cleves) their voices are also combined with their accents so Aimie especially i think- her singing voice is also very similar to her singing voice. Idk where im going with this haha, but there we go :)
Ik this was posted 3 weeks ago but I just wanted to let you know that the musical has an extra song not added into the cast album. It’s called Megasix and the audience is allowed to record it so you can see the performance (legally lmao) live from ANY of the casts

You should react to the Broadway cast! They're all amazing :0 I'd also like to add that they all have these different styles corresponding to their character. Catherine Of Aragon is portrayed as a strong, Beyonce-like powerhouse, Anne Boleyn is portrayed as a sort of cutesy, but also cool in a youthful sort of way (her main inspirations were Lilly Allen, Avril Lavigne, and Kate Nash), Jane Seymour is portrayed as the meekest wife at the beginning- she was the one who had a son and was supposedly loved by Henry (her inspirations were Adele and Sia), Anne Of Cleves is kind of a bold, Rihanna-Nicki Minaj mashup, Katherine Howard is portrayed (similar to Boleyn) as a cutesy/youthful but also tragic and traumatized young girl (her main inspirations were Ariana Grande and Britney Spears), and Catherine Parr is portrayed as the "survivor" who brings the show together, but she also has a pretty sad backstory (her inspiration was mainly Alicia Keys). Edit: Or the "Worldwide Mashup" with all casts
Okay I love this reaction and super happy you were able to give honest feedback about everyone's performance in this video since they all do carry such unique vocals throughout the song-Totally love this and really reminded me of my old HS school choir and music business teacher✌️

I honestly recommend to check out the American obc because they’re honestly the best in my opinion (especially Sam pauly as K Howard) Edit: Also the Obc Anne Boleyn is supper iconic just like Sam Pauly as K Howard
I didn’t realize this until seeing your video, but maybe the reason they’re not as blended at the beginning is because they were all competing at the beginning (overture so to speak) for who had the worst life, and at the end (the finale song) they all banded together to be like hey girl power guys suck yadda yadda Or it could be just a long day and I’m over analyzing
For me, as a British person, the fact they’re singing in British accents is quite interesting too, as sometimes British people may sing with a more nasally American accent quite often- though that might be quite a lot because the music they listen too has that accent. I don’t really know-
Oh please please pleeeease watch six the musical global performance where they have almost every actresses who’s played a character sing together and the mix is amazing!
As far as blending goes, and this isn't as clear outside of the show's context, throughout the show the girls are trying to figure out who'll be the lead singer, their disconnect in the beginning kind of represents the divides between them and they blend better in the finale (which is stitched to the end of this performance 9:17 and right about where you commented that they blended better after then), after they've found their voice and decided to all lead as equals.
Great video react. I am huge Six fan (and I was at the Olivier Awards in the audience for this performance). It's true that the girls have very different voices and styles, but that is the point of the show - women should stop comparing to each other and should focus on what makes them unique (this might explain the non perfect blending of their voices, as you mentioned). :) Also, you might know this already, but each one of he 6 wives is inspired to one iconic popstar (Beyonce, Adele, Britney etc). And you are totally on point in your comment about the "one that survived". She sort of stays more on the side for the first part of the show, to actually "explode" in the end, where she gives the audience a summary of sort of the show and its meaning
Can you please react to Loïc Nottet, a belgium singer, and his song Million Eyes ? Aesthetic and artistic music video in black and white, a super high voice which gives me chills every time I listen to it and beautiful contemporary dance too... He is so underrated and deserves to be known around the world. He's so talented !
Just to explain for if you may ever see this Gold is supposed to be very sassy and but also a mature lady, making her very pop but not overly pop sound make decent sense. Green is so pingy because they’re trying to imitate Lilly Allen in the whole, darker meaning but happier sound. The lady in white, whom you said was airy, is supposed to be the full on devoted wife type, very calm quiet maternal woman The one in red, you said she was more alto, is supposed to be more of her own woman type style, and back in the Tudor times, you had to be a man to rule yourself, so I think that’s the aim of that sound The one in pink, you said she had a pingy sound but not the overly pingy one. I would say the reason she is there In comparison to the happy ping is that her story is very much so depressing I comparison to all of them Finally, the survivor in blue, you said she was the most neutral. I would personally say this is because she, from a minimalistic google search is the least interesting, like gold was already royalty, green is iconic for the CofE, white had the son, red has her whole story, and pink was the youngest/promiscuous. I believe that’s the point, not sure though
I would try finding the "slime tutorial' and doing a react to each number. Plus the American cast's Britney Mack adds an opera piece in "Get Down". The American cast has a tad different sound too
Most vocal reactions we see is people roasting the singers witch is kind of annoying but you is always nice They dont blend cuz they are competing, is intentional try to be over the other
Thought on the blend I think it’s a intentional grouch character choice beacause the first song is all about them just introducing themselves separately and towards the end they do a good blend in the song

Due to popular voting, I'll be doing a reaction series for SIX some time December! Stay tuned!
💜🎶🎶💜
No that harmony is normally tight when they perform normally on the west end. They had did a show right before this performance so they were definitely exhausted.
It could also be that they might be tired
@@blueberriesarepurple4386 I mean, if Anne says it herself
I've been addicted to the musical for 3 months now.
You listen to Lauren Drew singing “No Way” - I was it live and I had chills she was that amazing
Well, we're doing a Six reaction series starting next week, but if Lauren Drew's version gets requested enough, I'll be glad to review it for ya! :)

@Honey Comb, I'll be doing a SIX reaction series this December. Hope you'd stay tuned for that :)
Because it’s a mashup of ex-wives and six, they’re not going to sing both songs fully
Can’t wait for it! I watched six recently and I’m in love, I already know all the songs
Pleaaaase react to "heart of stone" and "all you wanna do" from six!!!!
You should check out a few megasixs with the different Alts and understudies . They are pretty short so it would be easy to to multiple. There are a lot on UA-cam.
The story is about Henry the eighth’s six wives. It’s pretty cool though, it was written by 3 high schoolers or college kids I think.
Their vocal choices match their character personalities perfectly~
You should react to all of the six songs. Then you can listen what kind of tone they sing in
I really like this musical, and I hope you check out more of it.
May i ask which videos?
I love how you always go into such detail in all of your videos! So helpful for me to learn as a singer who can’t afford singing lessons right now! Thank you so much! 🙋🏽 💖✨ Xx
I'm so glad you did! I'd like to invite you to my Facebook group page. The instructions are right in the video!
I think I get Seymour’s singing style because her color is white and grey so her costume looks like a ghost because she died. And she sounds softer than the other ones and it reminds me of a ghost.
The thing I like about six is right as you start listening/ watching they drag you right into the fandom/ community, and that’s how I nailed history
Mari Chiari💗💗Love love this! 💗💗
7:36 HER REACTION IS SENDING ME BAHAHAHAHAHSH
I love how excited you get when they sing i love your videos!!
Thank you 💜💜💜
I saw the Chicago cast and this is one of most fun live shows I’ve seen. Also the vocals were so much better live.
AliciaJo💜🎶🎶💜
As a six stan- Aimie, Millie and Lexi specifically (Howard, Boleyn, Cleves) their voices are also combined with their accents so Aimie especially i think- her singing voice is also very similar to her singing voice. Idk where im going with this haha, but there we go :)
Ik this was posted 3 weeks ago but I just wanted to let you know that the musical has an extra song not added into the cast album. It’s called Megasix and the audience is allowed to record it so you can see the performance (legally lmao) live from ANY of the casts
Millie (the one in green) normally sounds a lot better I think it’s just this performance cause they had a busy day of rehearsals and shows as well as the nerves of this being the Olivier awards that made her sound off. She really does sound amazing I suggest watching west end live 2019 and you’ll see how good she really is :)
i would love to see you react to their individual songs, they fit so well to their voices and it’s really cool to see all the different songs create the whole show and a whole narrative
I actually seen that cast live about 2 years ago when six did a uk tour and they sounded so much better when i seen them
Agreed this performance they sounded kinda tired. This definitely wasn’t their best performance cause they definitely sound 10x better on a good day
@@trevonte3723 - on that day they'd already performed a matinée, before being rushed to the Royal Albert Hall to perform live at the Oliver Awards. Soon after that, they were rushed back to the theatre to do the evening show.
These women are powerhouses.
@@trevonte3723 Before the swing shown up in the show, only 6 girl or the original cast in the show set, they were hardly to get rest day when they were having show in UK. Grace who happen to be Maiya(Parr) best friend and school mate. Grace was the only one understudy and swing for all Queen and in the same time she was the dance captain for the original show set
@@duketgg They hardly to have new understudy or swing that time, so all 6 girl have to preform every open day at the theather, from original every Mon's night show to 6 shows/week. How they won't get tired and run out a little bit performing quality?
I suggest you watch their actual show other then the live because they blend so well in the actual show. This one was just a little rough.
You should react to the Broadway cast! They're all amazing :0
I'd also like to add that they all have these different styles corresponding to their character.
She paused Millie right at “se*-“y. 😳
XD omg how did I not hear that!?
Long waited!!!!!
I love how much you enjoyed this song!
her saying "oh they're so cute!" about aimie and natalie gives me life🥺♥️
Fun fact: Each queen's vocal styles and songs were based off of different popular pop singers!
That's so cool!!!!
I love this musical, can’t wait to see it live when the theatres open back up!
The blend is actually incredible for this show. ❤️
I think the Broadway cast are much better vocalists. Recommend you reacting to their performance of the opening song.
I agree 👏🏽
I agree! I enjoyed the Broadway cast performance a little bit more
Rude much? Why does it matter who she reacts to? Both casts are great and just because you prefer one doesnt mean its better. Like geeze.
@@shy8311 You're the one being rude. Can't someone have opinions and suggest stuff anymore?
@@normalperson659 no
To be honest I don’t think the harmonies were the best in this performance. Usually they are much better on the blending.
✨🥰🥰✨
Why do you have to set the premiers so early!! Your KILLING me here!!

I honestly recommend to check out the American obc because they’re honestly the best in my opinion (especially Sam pauly as K Howard)
Edit: Also the Obc Anne Boleyn is supper iconic just like Sam Pauly as K Howard
@Chiara disperata this cast is amazing too but the obc was the first one I watched so they’re the ones I prefer lol
You are one of my favorite UA-camrs! Love your reactions!
I didn’t realize this until seeing your video, but maybe the reason they’re not as blended at the beginning is because they were all competing at the beginning (overture so to speak) for who had the worst life, and at the end (the finale song) they all banded together to be like hey girl power guys suck yadda yadda
Or it could be just a long day and I’m over analyzing
For me, as a British person, the fact they’re singing in British accents is quite interesting too, as sometimes British people may sing with a more nasally American accent quite often- though that might be quite a lot because the music they listen too has that accent. I don’t really know-
I kinda brought that up in Don't Lose Your Head :) ua-cam.com/video/TA9s8jFyB5w/v-deo.html
Fun fact! Certain queens songs/and singing style mimic popular woman singers in history
Darling there’s nothing bad to say about these women they are AMAZINGGGG ❤️❤️
I've heard the term sacrificial blending. Each person needs to blend instead of focusing more on soloing.
Get down. That’s the best song on the album in my opinion. It’s so much fun to listen too.
You should definitely heard the soundtrack, they are all amazing and all the songs are wonderful
Incase you missed it, I announced that I will doing a SIX reaction series this December! Hope you'll stay tuned for that! :)
You should listen to Megasix! It's also Six the musical but I think they blend together
The cast recording has better blending if that's what you're looking for
Artistic Heart✨🥰🥰✨
The reason the blending isn’t on point of because they’re supposed to be very unique. They’re all supposed to stand out, so it was a stylistic choice.
Oh please please pleeeease watch six the musical global performance where they have almost every actresses who’s played a character sing together and the mix is amazing!
You should react to their performance of don’t lose your head! ITS SO GOOD
As far as blending goes, and this isn't as clear outside of the show's context, throughout the show the girls are trying to figure out who'll be the lead singer, their disconnect in the beginning kind of represents the divides between them and they blend better in the finale (which is stitched to the end of this performance 9:17 and right about where you commented that they blended better after then), after they've found their voice and decided to all lead as equals.
That's interesting! Yeah. Someone mentioned about the "who should be the lead singer" story line before and that adds insight :)
You have to react to the broadway version!
Also, you might know this already, but each one of he 6 wives is inspired to one iconic popstar (Beyonce, Adele, Britney etc). And you are totally on point in your comment about the "one that survived". She sort of stays more on the side for the first part of the show, to actually "explode" in the end, where she gives the audience a summary of sort of the show and its meaning
Hope you've subscribed! I'm doing a Six reaction series starting next week!
Just to explain for if you may ever see this
Gold is supposed to be very sassy and but also a mature lady, making her very pop but not overly pop sound make decent sense.
Green is so pingy because they’re trying to imitate Lilly Allen in the whole, darker meaning but happier sound.
The lady in white, whom you said was airy, is supposed to be the full on devoted wife type, very calm quiet maternal woman
The one in red, you said she was more alto, is supposed to be more of her own woman type style, and back in the Tudor times, you had to be a man to rule yourself, so I think that’s the aim of that sound
The one in pink, you said she had a pingy sound but not the overly pingy one. I would say the reason she is there In comparison to the happy ping is that her story is very much so depressing I comparison to all of them
Finally, the survivor in blue, you said she was the most neutral. I would personally say this is because she, from a minimalistic google search is the least interesting, like gold was already royalty, green is iconic for the CofE, white had the son, red has her whole story, and pink was the youngest/promiscuous. I believe that’s the point, not sure though
I LOVE this video I LOVE Six they're all soy talented and the musical has catchy music!! Thank you for recording this video😁❣️❣️
I would try finding the "slime tutorial' and doing a react to each number. Plus the American cast's Britney Mack adds an opera piece in "Get Down". The American cast has a tad different sound too
React to more songs they each have there own song
Be sure to check out next week! We're doing a Six reaction series :)
Ahh I missed the live but it’s okay I’ll watch the video!
Most vocal reactions we see is people roasting the singers witch is kind of annoying but you is always nice
They dont blend cuz they are competing, is intentional try to be over the other
You should listen and react to the more recent performances from six
Thought on the blend I think it’s a intentional grouch character choice beacause the first song is all about them just introducing themselves separately and towards the end they do a good blend in the song
Yeah. I've come to realize that after reviewing the musical. Have you checked out the other videos in the SIX Series? :)

Broadway is nice, but I miss the natural English accents

I'm pleasantly surprised to hear about Millie, I always thought she was just trying to sing above her range
Am I the only one who thinks they sounded way better on there soundtrack? Like only the last two in the lineup and the third sort-of, sound like they did in they're singles.
They are going to sound better on the soundtrack because the soundtrack they are in a studio and they aren't running around and performing plus they get as many tries as they want.
Millie O'Connell who played Anne Bolyn here is Scottish, and does an amazing accent.
she seems to have a southern English accent tho
me: jamming to the song
her: stopping
me: how could you T - T
you should do some of the individual songs from six!! i’d especially love to hear your take on natalies heart of stone!!
I find it interesting how critical you are on the UK cast verses the US. Do you think it’s down the the accents we are used to hearing?
I would love to hear you react to all of their individual songs. I bet you'll have so much to say about all of them. I know you've done some of them (I checked before commenting) but you haven't hit them all yet and i'm excited to see what you think about the rest.
Yeah. Six The Musical is an ongoing reaction series, but if you have a performance you'd like me to review, which I haven't seen, I might check it out for you :)
@@SongsFromASuitcase Very happy to hear it! :) My favorite performances are either from the Broadway bootlegs or the studio album tracks so unfortunately mine are mostly out of the picture but I do look forward to seeing you review renditions of No Way and I Don't Need Your Love!
Can you react to six on broadway? I LOVE that cast
I can completely relate to trying to "normalise" your singing when you're in a group coz when I sing sometimes I'll drop off the note I'm singing to one maybe half a step lower (think kinda Meghan Trainor-ish) and for obvious reasons you can't have one person singing like that and everyone else singing a different way lol xxx
