This time, my beloved wife and I plus a friend went our not solo camping in very extreme weather. The heavy rainstorm accompanied by the sound of thunder made the atmosphere feel very tense. Outside the tent was flooded.
Initially the weather in the afternoon was still quite sunny. However, after entering the afternoon, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorm began to come.
The flysheet was unable to stem the flow of falling rainwater. So we decided to add a bigger wooden tent support posts. After the rain stopped, we also cooked dinner, which is an Indonesian food, Beef Rendang.
Shortly after dinner, the rainstorm came again. The atmosphere was quite tense because rainwater had entered the tent because of the strong winds plus lightning that struck the sky. It rained all night.

Kali ini, saya dan istri tercinta plus seorang teman camping di cuaca yang sangat ekstrem. Hujan badai yang deras disertai dengan suara geledek membuat suasana terasa sangat mencekam. Diluar tenda pun banjir.
Awalnya cuaca di siang hari masih cukup cerah. Namun, setelah memasuki sore hari, hujan disertai angin kencang serta kilat petir mulai datang.
Tenda flysheet sempat tak kuat membendung debit air hujan yang jatuh. Sehingga kami putuskan untuk menambah tiang penyangga dari kayu yang lebih besar.
Setelah hujan reda, kami pun memasak makan malam yakni berupa makanan khas Indonesia dari kota Padang, Daging Rendang.
Tak lama setelah dinner, hujan badai kembali menghampiri. Suasana cukup mencekam karena air hujan sempat masuk ketenda katena hujan angin yang cukup kencang ditambah petir yang menyambar di langit. Hujan pun turun semalaman.

Considering the conditions, I call that an incredible success. There’s literally nothing more you can do in those situations but hunker down and hope for the best! I’ve been in storms like that on my travels in Asia and I can not imagine camping in one! Scary. That was a real test of your gear and skills. You won! And you had a fantastic meal, that’s the main thing. 😂
Yes, luckily we enjoyed the extreme weather. Because rain in tropical forests is sometimes very extreme. Maybe one day you will return to travel in Asia. Thank you for watching our video 🙏

We camped before the storm came. Unexpectedly, the storm came in the afternoon. But we enjoyed it 👍
I love thunder, lightning and especially rain, but only from the point of view that I’m warm and comfy behind a glass window with a blanket and a hot cup of coffee, reading a book. Definitely don’t want to go walking around, foraging, or worse still, trying to SLEEP in a tent in those conditions.
Unfortunately I have a condition that makes it difficult for me to maintain my body temperature properly so camping is an absolute No no for me lol!

When you think about it, 🤔 we're in fluid for 9 months while developing and strange as it sounds we evolved from fish. Someone said the reason the rain sound is so relaxing is that this is the sound that a baby hears when in the womb. I do not know how true that is but is really amazing and relaxing, I love this. Now I can go to sleep

It's because humans lived more like this for the majority of our existence, modern society is only like a second on a clock in how long humans have existed so it's passed on through your genes, people didn't have technology so when it rained and they were stuck indoors in huts etc then they listened to rain to pass the time while it rained, so people would relax to the sounds of nature, so just like a lion born in zoo would feel better running in open field you feel better doing things that your ancestors done for most of humanity, it's just most modern people are so brainwashed that they don't feel what you feel and they've become "civilized" which is like training a horse where you break them to become tame, school is used to break kids spirits and make them less human, that's why the English made the Irish, Indians in Asia, black people and native Americans to go to school. This is where you're taught to forgo your personality and conform, being a good person means you're obedient and don't answer back, very few people recover and become individuals with their own opinions that don't come from the system.

Best thing about camping. Waking up at 5am to the sound of rain and the tent is bone dry. You pitched on high ground. Roll a joint and go back to sleep for a few hours. Waking to the fresh smell of wet grass. Make coffee and bacon sandwich. That is heaven on earth.
