Amazing family, but I do wish the judges would stop saying that no one likes classical music, that people think it's boring etc. They really don't, there are loads of people who love and appreciate this kind of music.
+Kassie Stepanova - I agree! I blast ballet music in my car so much that every 3 years or so, I need new speakers. And as I drive past people, they start dancing to the music. Classical music is indeed loved!
Artistry at its finest. I have loved classical music all my life. I love all music. Judges who have opinions that no one likes classical - have no idea what they are talking about. It is loved by all ages, colors, and genders. This family should of won!
I do my research and I'm glad I did🤗!! I'm here after watching the Royal Wedding and seeing the 19th year old cellist Sheku Kanneh-mason. Amazing musical genes...
Everyone should applaud the hard work, support, talent, charisma of this family. Such talent is the result of a gift, but more importantly dedication & practice.
I was brought up to appreciate classical music . These kids are amazing. Little did they know then, that simon Sheku would end up playing for the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meaghan.
Cedric R that's right !!! The whole wide world knows of Sheku Kanneh Mason "Today!" I did not know of him!!!..... but I know him now!!! I will differently support him in his music as I spread the Word!!
Absolutely amazing gifted family...I look forward to what the future holds for you, young ones! Congrats to Mum & Dad for doing an incredible job of nurturing such talent.
Absolutely amazing. I'm a big fan of America's Got Talent and wish they had come to America to portray their talent. The young cellist was magnificent at the Royal Wedding. You made me proud. An amazing gifted and beautiful family. God bless all of you babies.
Wonderfully done. You young people are already on your way to greatness. Stay grounded, don't drift from family values or love of family; the business is selfish, will and can cause division in attempts to exploit your gift. Heads up. ⚘
Mason Pitman look at there ethnicity that mostly a reason that gets taken into play around the world most White people don't want blacks to win anything thing
these kid,s make you happy by listening to them, most classical musician,s are mean looking and miserable, but they are happy all the way through..love you guy.s looking for your cd...
There are many beautiful and handsome classical musicians... The record companies look for people with the whole package, talent, looks and intelligence
What a bunch of ignorant judges saying "that kind of music" and saying, would be sad playing it. Ugh, Shows how uneducated they all are. I don't watch this show because I'm in the US and don't watch the American version either. I only came here today because of the Royal wedding and discovering Sheku from that and then his sister from seeing his other videos and then finding the whole family through UA-cam.
I find this thrilling. These young people are contributing to the arts which are still important to a society. Unfortunately in the United States, the arts are the first areas in the curriculum to be cut. Perhaps some school board members will hear this and be inspired to keep the arts in the curriculum.
And parents especially in African-American families would rather put their children in sports. They think that music is not an important subject and that their children cannot find success in it. The public schools in most large U.S. cities do cut orchestra programs. They are likely to keep band, because they are entertainment for football games (including majorettes, twerkers, I mean, dancers, flag squad, etc.). It has been an age-old thing that school officials cut orchestra from predominately black and Latinx schools, because they feel that it is a field for those students of European descent. They are so wrong, because there are a lot of African-American string players that are doing very well playing some of everywhere - television, music videos, concerts behind recording artists especially at awards shows (Grammys, etc.), playing as solo artists in all styles of music (jazz, hip-hop, R & B, rock, gospel, etc.) and so on. Soloists are creating their own market and are doing quite well. There is a youth orchestra in Africa called the Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble (they are on UA-cam).
I was classically trained and i've been following this fabulous family a long time now. My father was actually the Director Of Culture of Trinidad and Tobago. This is the music we absolutely adore. Yes I do play different genres but this is the foundation. I do not understand the terms some of the judges use regarding classical music. I've had very exciting times growing up playing first the violin in the orchestra and then switching to the viola. Every single one of us who played in the orchestra enjoyed it 100% I then got the opportunity to play with the Caracas Youth Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela which was very exciting and so much more. There's absolutely nothing boring about classical music.
Richmond Punch Violinist - it does not matter how many views/likes/comments Kanneh-Masons get...they will be recognised very very soon by da right peoples! AND wot better recognition recently than being requested to play at Royal wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan on 19 May 2018!! Go Kanneh-Masons... an excellent job! 👏 👏 👏 👏
This is fabulous! Britain's Got Talent features things like this, while America's Got Talent features the guy that gets hit in the balls with random objects....
Abigail King there have been many talented musicians and magical acts that have won America's Got Talent! Great talent all over the world! No need to look down your nose and be pious.
How this family didn't win is beyond me. They are amazing. They bring a freshness to Classical Music, too....not that I think it needs it, mind you. Love them.
I am a fan of this extraordinary musical family since their apparition on BGT three years ago. Sheku's performance at the Royal Wedding 2018 has finally brought the recognition that all seven siblings of the Kanneh-Masons Family Orchestra so rightfully deserve . They are a joy to look at them performing and to listen to their music. To the parents of the clan.... BRAVO !! Best wishes from Canada.
I learned to play the violin as a young little black girl in 6th grade here in Texas. I'm not anywhere near this caliber but I do love to play and teach classical music and the violin. I love seeing people of color doing this; it is very inspiring!
Who would have guessed that Sheku would come out to win "The Young Professional Musician's Award for 2018". And he also played for Prince Harry's wedding and put goose bumps ALL OVER my body. What an awesome cellist, what an awesome young man! Hopefully he will have a pen on him at all times to sign the many contracts that will be given to him.
Wait so 55,000 views and only 27 comments. What has the world come to? Black and proud Violinist enjoying Black and Proud Family of Musicians. God is REAL and this is Unbelievable!!! Lastly, Simon no one cares lol! From Juilliard and Yale Graduate ViolinRichmond
Had they been a Caucasian family this video would had much more likes and millions of views - sad and pathetic they do not get more encouragement and support, it is well and truly deserved for the Kennoh-Masons.
They’re classical musicians. Classical isn’t the most popular genre hence the low views, in your opinion. Maybe you shouldn’t belittle their accomplishments and appreciate them instead. BTW I’m Caucasian and I’m going to like the video and send to my Caucasian cello playing cousin. I’m spreading the word about this family instead of making a problem where there is none.
Amazing family, but I do wish the judges would stop saying that no one likes classical music, that people think it's boring etc. They really don't, there are loads of people who love and appreciate this kind of music.
+Kassie Stepanova "THAT kind of music." She couldn't even say "classical."
*****
I know, right?
+dogfaceboy47 That also got to me it felt like a hit to the head every time she said THAT
+Kassie Stepanova - I agree! I blast ballet music in my car so much that every 3 years or so, I need new speakers. And as I drive past people, they start dancing to the music. Classical music is indeed loved!

The Jacksons of Classical Music! Genius family!
"The Jacksons of Classical Music..." but with real talent and none of the perversion.

And yesterday with Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding, millions of people got to hear the young cellist playing! Congratulations to the whole family!

So so so proud of these beautiful, well mannered talented black children. Love them !!!
josweet love why use the word black?
Little did you know that your son would perform at the Royal Wedding.
When they dropped into the Prokofiev, I threw my hands up. Love that.
This marvellous family was too brilliant for this public to win ? Great disappointment for me! :(
They have achieved a lot more since, winning a mainstream talent show is nothing to them now! Especially Sheku!
What a delight t learn that young Sheku is "one of a bunch" of super-talented musicians! Thanks for the post!
Take back your words Papa Sheku, now you can say the Royal wedding is the greatest Sheku has done by far.... Well done !!!
If it weren't for the Royal wedding I would never knew about them. Great kids!
Amazing young people with amazing talents who have amazing parents! :) Thank you for sharing your talents with the world! :)

Awesome Awesome, I love that it is a family of children. Music speaks to all, young and the very young at heart.
Wonderfully done. You young people are already on your way to greatness. Stay grounded, don't drift from family values or love of family; the business is selfish, will and can cause division in attempts to exploit your gift. Heads up. ⚘
Gifted, inspiring, beautiful family.

I would love to see them in concert!
Liz P they’re having a concert in Nottingham to which I’m probably going to and they go to a school which I put down as my second choice

Sadly, I'm afraid that is not likely to happen under the current administration.

Awesome music and lovely family!
Wow, talented family! I believe the eldest child was asked to play at the upcoming royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan. Good for him!
Fanniumen I did not, but I'm sure he gave a spectacular performance. He is extremely talented after all
+Fanniumen They didn't win because they were too good.
It wasn't the oldest child. It was the cellist. He did an awesome job!
He’s not the eldest. Sheku is 3rd child
Awesome!! I love it. It's very classical. Great family.
Beautiful...pure talent.
Wow! And Wow ! And yes, I am here because of the royal wedding.
They are amazing. Now the youngest has joined in for a total of 7, ranging in age from 21 to 8. Awesome!
Wauw... what a talent!
Amazing. Exhilarating. Exciting. Uplifting. Makes me miss and wish for my years in Jr. orchestra. Classical music still alive and well.
The wedding brought me here..as usual, no one can see past the pop trash today.
