I'm a hungarian fangirl of Roméo et Juliette, and this is the first scene I saw from this version. Although I don't speak hebrew, I find the language fascinating and truly beautiful! I really like the characters here, the actors of Mercutio and Tybalt are so charming! Mercutio is both subtle and provocative, whereas Tybalt is quite funny and cute, he seems to enjoy the process of mockery and fighting. I'm curious whether he is in love with Juliette in this version or not. I also think he didn't intend to seriously harm Mercutio because he was clearly devastated during Mercutio's farewell. Anyway, I continue to search for other videos of this interesting version, I would be thrilled to watch the entire show!

I've seen a number of versions of this scene, a lot of them good, and this is by far the most realistic--it's the only one so far where they actually had swords, and the characters feel so real too. It's interesting how both Tybalt and Mercutio look like they're having fun with the fight, like it's just a game to them and they don't intend for it to have a serious consequence, and then Tybalt looks visibly distressed to have killed Mercutio and doesn't do anything to stop himself from being killed. It's like he's only just come in contact with the full, grave reality of what they're living in and feels like it's too much or like he deserves to die for what he did. I don't think that's in line with the original Shakespeare, but it really emphasizes how they're a bunch of young, somewhat naïve people who are caught up in something bigger than themselves, and that has its own sort of pathos, just like it does when they've already been swallowed by the hatred.
