Thank you, Jennifer, for this simple, yet informative stretching video. My cattle dog is unable to run anymore due to injuries to her hind quarters. We will do these after our daily walks.
So glad I found this video. My bassets inside hips are so tight as she’s going onto 10 this December but she’s a super active dog. We started agility last week for the first time. With vet clearance of course! I’m hoping this will help her loosen up and keep her moving and tearing up that field some more!! She loves it already wish I started it years ago. She loves obedience classes
Thank you for this helpful video. I will be using these techniques to try to keep our 13 y/o golden/shepherd mix mobile. Incidentally, your dog's penmanship is much better than mine.
Excellent video! I have a Mountain Cur name Maddie who loves to run while I mountain bike, sometimes she's ahead of me sometimes she's behind me depending and what she smelling or peeing on LOL we probably go out about 4 days a week and she probably goes about 10 miles each time she's an incredible shape and I stretcher regularly. very important for dogs
Do you only do this after a certain age and do you change the stretches for different dogs? I have a teacup chihuahua and she is a puppy and I was curious when I should start? My other dog is old and has arthritis and is very sensitive to stuff like this how should I go about helping her? Sorry for all the questions 😅
I have to do the stretches with our German shepherd Valentine standing because as soon as you get on the floor she gets up and starts giving you kisses! 😂 😂 😂 I do support under her belly when I do her back legs and get her to sit when I do some of the front leg stretches. That way she gets a break and I don't do the same leg three or four times in a row, I go round each leg, again to give her a chance to rest. She is 11 after all, I do what she's comfortable doing and what the vet showed me. It would be nice for her if she'd let me do it while she's lying down but she likes to share the love, we named her well lol xx
how do you stretch your dogs back? my german shepherd has hip dysplasia and I was told he hunches his back in to take the pressure off his hind legs. The vet said I should do back stretches on him to take some of the pressure off his back. How should I stretch his back out?
It was helpful but my dog isn't cooperative enough or let's say he is too lazy to do qny exercise😂😂 But I loved the way flier was lying while stretching😊
I have a dog that needs to be inactive for 4 months to heal from a wound in the leg/front paw. Do you recommend these exercises to keep the other 3 legs from atrophy?
ive been doing these stretchss for my dog for some time, but then recently whenever i try to do the hind legs, he won't let me stretch them towards his rear--he tends to flinch and tense up when i try to stretch the hind legs back... i was wondering what might be wrong with his back legs
1. My poor back. Relaxing my dog while fucking up my lower back: Check 2. Smelling dog’s toe cheese (long leg/german ahepherd): Check 3. In the next life I want to be my dog

Good explanation. Dog looks so comfortable.

The dogs face though I just cannot🤦🏻♀️😂
Awesome, I usually put warm compress on the back and hips to warm it up too.
This video is exceptionally well done and the explanations are wonderfully clear. Nice job.
Yours's was the 1st video that popped up about streaching my pup's foreleg, I didn't go any further. Really nice video
That dog is like wth are you doing to me woman???? It's feelin' so darn good... ...
Very good video instructions. I think My dog is stretchier tho :D
Stretchier is good, Julia--enjoy giving your dog an extra good stretch session.
thanks, :) He enjoyed it more than me. Maybe he's stretchier because he's smaller; a yorkie
My German shepherd is gonna love life :)
Excellent instruction thank you

This was helpful and incredibly relaxing. ❤️🐶🌿
my pup won't stop rolling onto his back for belly rubs 🥰

Jacob, we hope it also helps her feel better as well as making her one happy pup!

I wish you would have used a short haired dog for this so I could see everything a bit more clearly... that dog has alot of fluff
Lol but so cute
Good point. If I can round up everyone to redo it one day, we'll choose a short haired dog.
Would this work on my GSD who's back leg is slipping but doesn't seem in pain.
Mainly when he's getting up after sitting. Thanks
When I clicked on this he just woke up and stretched out his legs and grunted xD so cute!
Yes thank you for sharing the video. :)

Is this good for a dog who has just had surgery for a broken hind leg snd now has a plate in the leg
what a beautiful boi 🔥
Agility dogs ftw!!! My corgi does agility and these are great to do before a run, thank you!
And do you have any research or technical expertise to backup your statement?
Nope! :) My dog just seems to relax and calm down while limbering her up and preparing her for a fun bonding experience!
What kind of breed is flyer
GothicGoddess16
A Rough Collie
does this work for cats
Probably but I don't see a cat sitting still for this.
Instructions unclear; my dog is now 6 feet long
Seriously though, this seems super helpful and I might try it with my dog!
lol love it!

Great idea, be gentle with the joints tho
Wagnificent video! 2 Paws Up!
That dog be like...." Do whatever you want. Just give me treats and I'm yours"

What if she can’t walk very well ..
You will need to speak with your vet or animal rehab person for their advice on what would work best for your pet and her condition.

Dogs stretch themselves
I broke my dog leg doing this
Omg. How? So don't stretch?
@Jackal Prints bad joke
Due to one of the following: Pathologic fracture, a tremendous amount of excessive force was applied, or this a joke in seriously poor taste.
