Mornin Y'all! I hear Sandhill cranes. Those used to come through the area when I lived in Indiana. They make quite the distinctive racket. 😊 I love that micro rig. With Armor shad on it, its got to be crazy subtle! Love that idea. That Damiki works great on the bluff walls, I imagine that rig is fire!
Thanks, Matt. No flip-flop sightings, so it MUST have been cold. Good luck to those heading out to have a go at the bass today or over the weekend, and I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!
Mornin’ gents, Ordered the micro, heads and bodies should be here by Tuesday. I’m headed down to Lake Marion at the end of the month can’t wait to give the micro a go!
Chucked a couple Micro A rig's into my TW basket yesterday after watching your Vid . Was looking forward to this Vid 😊 . Great one Matt looking forward to getting out on the water when when Winter eventually arrives in Africa .
I love fishing! I’d rather fish than eat. But as I have aged now days the cold air hurts me so bad. Both hips replaced, both knees replaced, three back surgeries and a double fusion in my neck. 283 airborne jumps, 4 years in the infantry, 4 years in tanks, and 35 years in big trucks. I have worn this body out. I’m ready for spring and club tournaments.
January is over halfway, February is a short month. March will be GREAT and I’ll start in February. I have two new HDS Live depth finders and an Active Target Live to mount on my boat. My next quest will be a new ghost. As a disabled veteran I’ll have to save up for that one. lol
I am always watching your hands / retrieve in your videos. Nearly every bass caught in this video came just moment after you flutter that rig with a momentary quick turn or two of the reel handle. I will be getting some of these micro rigs. 👍🏻
Great video as usual just got my tactical dd crank in a couple days ago and my first fish on it was a 6lb 9oz and it was actually in sale lol but you weren’t kidding such a great bait!
Matt is the greatest winter Bass fishing teacher known to man, he took a guy who'd never Bass fished winters until last year, and now it's easily my favorite time to fish!
That’s a really neat little rig. I think it’s going to player here soon for me. I’ve really had good luck with the micro baits in the last year or so. But I can see it now, two more years of everyone throwing the mico baits and the industry is going to be pushing the jumbo baits, lol.
What kinda knot do y'all tie when connecting the braid to leader on such a "lighter" rig?? Asking cause you never know when BIG LEWEY might eat it. Keep up the great videos, love subscribing to this channel👍
Matt, I want to get your micro A-rig. I fish highland reservoirs and have never owned an A-rig. Which one is recommended for clearer water? Bladed or non-bladed? I’m a father of 4 and don’t get out too much so any info is appreciated.
What would i need to get to convert the micro a rig to only have 2 hooks? Would that mess up the bait of action? I want to try it but MD only allows 2 hooks on a none treble hard bait.
@@caseysaunders2137 I even tried squaw yesterday and only caught a handful. I honestly think this brutal cold we are about to have might make the bite a little better. It’ll get the water temps to lower 40s for that true winter bite. Who knows. I can’t wait for March 😂
@@clintonbruningI live in extreme south west Arkansas and it has been extremely cold! 🥶 last winter the water barely got out of the 50s. It was 42 last time I went fishing! All these Florida strain bass are shut down! Especially with this winter storm coming thru I won’t be fishing for a couple weeks. 🤦🏼♂️
@@Mg0936 it’s definitely going to tank the water temps after this week. My home lake is in a funk for sure. I live in Fort Worth. I grew up in NE Kansas and though I moved away from this crap. Guess I didn’t go south enough 😂.
I’m not an expert by any means, but I’d use a screw lock in place of a hook. Keep the bottom wires hooked and weighted, top wire with a screw lock as the dud. Tight lines! 🎣
@@Yoitzjerry so you’re saying bottom 2 hooked, top 3 dummies makes the most sense? I’m just concerned that the middle dummy bait will be too far back and it’ll get bit.
@@krisramos7453 the micro rig has 5 wires, two at the top (which is use for dummies), two at the bottom (which is use as hooked), and the one in the center (which I would use as a dummy). In order for the rig to swim true, you’d need to balance the weight, which in this case would make the most sense to have the bottom wires as hooked. And I’m assuming you’re using weighted jig heads. The one wire in the center may get bit more because it’s further back, but in the case where you only want two hooked baits, this is what makes the most sense to me. I can be completely wrong, but just thinking about it in my head, it makes the most sense to keep your hooked baits on the bottom so the entire rig swims upright. if you wanted 3 hook baits, then Id use the two bottom and center wires. in your case where you only want/need two, you'll have have sacrifice that center wire which is the most likely to get bit.
@@krisramos7453 I feel it. Like I said, I’m not an expert and I can be completely wrong, but two bottom hooked (with weighted jig heads) and center + two top as dummies just makes the most sense *logically*. It’s always best to go out and experiment. Tight lines! 🎣

Fellow Hoosier here, We have so many of those cranes up north. During the spring and summer you can hear them all the way across the lake.

Good video. Thanks for the ride along.
Happy New Year Tim & Matt.
I was watching you retrieve the micro rig and I thought it was a jerkbait. I’m gonna give that a shot when mine comes in!
I got my water depth question answered by paying more attention to the video on its second view. thank you

Awesome vid, excited to order some of those soon 🤙
We have a snow storm here in Chicago 😢 good morning math lest go tactical bassin
Brrrr, we are going to have a high of -9 tomorrow here in Rapid City, South Dakota. No bass fishing here either. At least we got Tactical Bass'in.

Come do a class on Lake Mead where a huge bag is 8 pounds. Would love to learn from the pros. Have a super day.

Every time you guys dropped a video that bait goes out of stock fast 😂. Can't wait to throw the micro.

Anytime I catch a small fish I always say, “He ain’t a big one, but he is one.” Sometimes that first little guy is all you need to gain confidence. 😂
I would love to see the action on the rod snaps vs reel pumps. It seems like most of the bites came after the more subtle reel pumps.
What is the water depth are you fishing in. I appreciate you guys!
Are you wearing house slippers if so I'm impressed 😂
Why mono leaders instead of flouro? Do you always do this with a-rigs?

What's going on with your rear bump seat, below the seat??? Just Curious. TY
In your opinion, what is the most versatile medium power casting rod in the $200-$250 price range?

Any tips on getting those ZMan Slim Swimz on the micro A rig dummies?
It will drive you mad but it can be done with force.
I hate to keep bothering but I also have a zodias ZDC76ma what would recommend it for?
When are the non bladed micro rigs restocking?
It shouldn't be long, Hog Farmer is hard at work every day building more rigs.

Hey Matt love y’all’s UA-cam channel… I have a Expride C72MHGB what do you think this rod is best for casting?
It’s paired with a chronarch 150hg but I have faster and slower Curado reels
It's a good chatterbait rod, can also throw squarebills and other cranks.
It's a great chatterbait rod 👍🏼
I got my micro flex A rigs and guppy heads ordered. These should kill in April here in South Dakota!
How does that micro rig hold up on doubles/triples?
White bass good to eat?
Just got my micro in! What your go to every cast retrieve? Do you just reel it in or pop it throughout the retrieve?
Reel with occasional double twitches
Matt do you do anything to your boat to fish all winter. Bassmd
Also, what depth are the fish suspended in
Hey,why are you throwing the micro on braid to leader?
I throw nearly everything on braid to leader, it's just personal preference.
North Texas bite right now 💀😵💫
If the 25-40+ wind would lay down I'd go, but not in this dang wind tunnel. Better conditions for surfing than fishing.
