Thanks for this incredible display of Brazil. Who else can give you such a in-depth view of Brazil. One thing you didn’t do is visit the beach which is one of the places on top of the places you usually visit in your tour. Maybe you will visit the beach in another tour. I just noticed you did the beach a month ago. I will definitely watch the walk.

Salsa? For Brazil? Brazil has a wide variety of wonderful music genres..... Samba, Bossa Nova, Pagode, Forro, Axe, to name a few. With all of those options, the fact that you would choose Hispanic music for a video of a Brazilian city is ....well, ridiculous. Brazil is not an Hispanic nation, Brazilians speak Portuguese, not Spanish.

Congratulations on going beyond the obvious of only showing beaches.
Salsa music is of Cuban origin, Cuba is located in Central America, this style of music does not exist in Brazil, in addition to being a South American country, very far from Cuba. This is a very serious geography error.
Brazil has one of the most vibrant local music scenes of any country in the world, but salsa plays no part in that (nor does Spanish!). To feature a salsa introduction to Brazil is culturally tone deaf at best, and downright insulting at worst. Salsa doesn’t even come from the same language tradition as that spoken in Brazil (Portuguese). There were so many possibilities for music, including Samba, Bossa Nova, MPB (música popular brasileira), samba canção, sertaneja, and even chorro, but for Rio it should have been Samba or Bossa Nova. Que vergonha.
He’s a videographer not a musician. He didn’t say it was from Brazil. He often picks music for his videos that sounds nice but is not intended to be culturally relevant to the location. It’s just intro music.
@@andyb619 His videos are beautiful, and I take your point. I’ve watched many of his over the years and enjoyed them immensely. However, he inadvertently stepped into a cultural minefield with this one. Brazil is understandably sensitive about its culture being misunderstood and mistaken for Hispanic culture; it happens often, especially from ignorant American tourists, I’m sorry to say. (I’m American, and I make that observation from experience.) Brazil is very distinct among all of the South American countries in that it does not share a language or a culture with any of them (the others are also quite distinct one from another, with the exception of language - I exclude the Guyanas), yet its own uniqueness is often overlooked or dismissed.
Within that cultural context, I think most observers could see how introducing a video about Rio with salsa music would be unintentionally offensive.
Brazil smells like crime and body odor.
The music was on a list of music when I searched using the keyword "Brazil" on the music site I use. I liked it, so I used it. I still like it. It's not meant to be insulting...that would a little strange. I have a lot of viewers from Brazil. I went there out of appreciation for them. It's just an intro to a walking tour that's supposed to show the fun atmosphere of the city.
I'm a fan of your work around the world, but unfortunately you started the video in the worst part of downtown Rio de Janeiro, a lot of confusion, especially since it was Carnival time. This may have caused people's lack of interest in continuing with the video. It would be interesting for you to make other videos around the Lagos Region, Paraty, Angra dos Reis and other central/southern parts of Rio such as Aterro do Flamengo and Enseada de Botafogo and the already known beaches! As your work has a different way of walking and showing differently from other recordings, perhaps it will be more attractive!
Well..I was there for 2 weeks and it rained almost every day. I only had one good day of filming. Nothing worked out like I had planned. I appreciate the feedback. I'm heading to Japan in a couple days to film some walks there.
