The main thing is that God should always remain at the center of the home. Matthew 22:37
Your priorities should be determined by God's leadership and instructions versus Your commitment to God being determined by other loyalties and priorities.
There are many "demands" our lives can be centered around . . . education, money (2 Timothy 6:10), career, family, pleasure, peer pressure, fame, sinful activity.
God's rules for measuring activities.
1. Will it glorify God? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
2. Can it be done in Jesus name? Colossians 3:17
3. Can it be done for the Lord? Colossians 3:23
4. How does it appear to others? 1 Corinthians 8:9
5. Does it involve the wrong company? 2 Corinthians 6:17
Is it God's will for me?
Is it what I want to read?
Am I willing to face it in judgment?
Can I win souls in doing it?
