Regarding Audi not taking things back: I'm in California, and same thing...they won't take anything back that's been installed, but what's more, they won't take electrical parts back altogether even if not installed. However, with that, I've found it depends who I've talked to in parts. When buying an electrical part, the guy said I could return it as long as not installed, and then when I called to see if I could return it after 30 days, another guy said the 30 days isn't the issue but that they couldn't take an electrical part back at all. I said I was told only if installed, and he said, well if you think about it, there's no way for us to guarantee if it's been installed or not. I think that's bs, but he said he'd make an exception. I think he was just trying to be difficult, but definitely can't bring something back if installed is the moral of the story. I say install it lightly so there are no marks, try it out, and if problem still not fixed and it's something else, then return it.
Good to know. I don't enjoy the new Audi design language. Been looking at the initial X7s but nothing does what my Q7 TDI can. I need to be able to tow 7000lbs a few times a year and I love having 650 miles of range pure fill from the diesel on road trips since I'll do 1,500 miles a day. Nothing else comes close.
i have a problem with my Q5 2009, i bought it like that, eventhough it closes properly ,in the dashbord it remains open, i`m thinking the new ones you bought are gonna make the same problem too...
Not exactly sure what your problem is, but I've had zero issues since this fix. Going strong and still loving my Q7. I've been towing a lot with it and it's been solid.
youre the only person on youtube that isnt full of total crap and actually explains things logically!! thank you.
I appreciate the feedback. I try to be concise while providing useful info.
Thank you so much. This is what actually worked. The latch stuck open, I sprayed it and played around with it a little, and now it works perfectly
My gate wasn't working till I flicked that switch a few times and the tail gate locked perfectly thanks dude you saved me a lot of money! 😊😊😊😊😊
You made my day !! Thanks !!
My mannn, didn’t know you could manually open that’s already a huge help and gonna try this one. What a coincidence I just bought some nice ptfe lube
just sprayed mine which would not close ,showing the boot open . worked straight away. 👍
I still haven't had issues since this fix. Hope same goes for you!
Great video much appreciated

There definitely no "light" installing with this particular part due to the forces involved with closing and opening the hatch. I appreciate the info.
Btw I have a 2016/11 production and still has this issue, a SQ5 to tho 😅

Hey man, excellent video. By chance can we get links to the parts you bought? Thanks!
@tylergarcia6799 bought on ebay a while ago and the listing isn't available. Sorry!
