      Once you get the basics down with Pure Data, MobMuPlat is intuitive and smooth to use imo.
      I hope you have fun as much as I did!

    Thanks for sharing this. Are you using Lyra synth with MobMuPlat? I clicked the link, but I have not seen there any reference to MobMuPlat. There is an standalone version of the synth.

      Yes! It looks like there are several versions and one of them is MobMuPlat. It's the first folder that was added "last year".

    i found this app last month but didnt put it to work because of university, but with this video i can make a simple gui thank you so much
    my first idea is to make a sequencer sampler with different filters

      That sounds fun! Yeah, that should totally be possible with MobMuPlat! Please feel free to share a video of it when you're ready! Would love to check it out/

    Great video! Is this like a kind of TouchOSC but much simpler?

    • @SoundSimulator
      @SoundSimulator  Рік тому +1

      TouchOSC is more of a controller for performing with a synth that's in Ableton, Pure Data, or MaxMSP. So laptop + iPhone set up.
      With this, we put that synth INSIDE of the phone. No laptop needed!

    Would be great if you could somehow export the code for use in things like touch osc. A coding plugin that could do that would be amazing

      I think it's been a while since MobMuPlat was updated. It works amazingly and it would be awesome to see a new update for the current era.

    • @MikeMorenoDSP
      @MikeMorenoDSP Рік тому +3

      You could actually use MobMuPlat as the sound engine and use touch OSC to control it all in the same phone :)

    What a great video! Do you (or someone in the community) know of any software similar to Mobmuplat but for creating custom GUIs for the computer? I'm working on my thesis project and would like to create a program that can be used primarily on the PC (clearly, I could have a mobile version thanks to this video). I'll be attentive, and thank you very much for the content!

    i wish you would've showed us how to do some of the stuff you set up in pd because it's kinda hard to figure out for a first-timer, and it would've saved me time i had to spend googling around and looking at old forum posts. cool video though

    This is amazing, thanks. Do you think there's a way of turning this into a way of outputing cv from a smartphone onto a synth? If so, how would you go about it? I've made a simple sequencer following your video that uses a simple osc~ object as a sound source goint into the dac~. I'm quite new to pd so i'm not sure but it doesn't seem too wacky to me that there could be a different obect to replace the dac~ with so that the output would be voltage instead of audio (maybe?) would love your feedback on this idea thanks a lot in advance!

    • @SoundSimulator
      @SoundSimulator  Рік тому +1

      That would be fun to do!
      It's gonna be a bit more complex than that unfortunately, but I can think more about it and maybe even make a video on it. It sounds like a fun project~~
      My guess would be...
      MMP (sequencer + OSC messaging) -> separate custom app that can wirelessly communicate to Arduino (?) -> Arduino with QUAD DAC (I have a separate video on it already) -> CV to Eurorack.
      OR
      MMP (sequencer) -> module that can pitch-detect and envelope-follow

    • @knopslmodular
      @knopslmodular Рік тому

      @@SoundSimulator cv would need some hardware to amplify the output of the smartphone to lets say eurorack level. not that hard to do but for anything quantized for example you'll need another MCU to calculate values. hmm got some ideas already.

    Very cool!
    Just completing a RPi 10" Multi-touch tablet to accomplish the same task of a portable Master GUI for multiple laser projectors, except via TouchOSC & Reaper to record onto a multimedia timeline.
    On the other hand, this provides direct access to PD & the Laser Synth's software, which could also be recorded within Reaper.
    Your videos are always great food for thought. Thanks!😎

      @@SoundSimulator pd is frustrating visual programming i simply would not use it, i tried in past but im a coder end of the day, to me better use other stuff than that messy oversimplified gui. (i.e. tidal cycles+js/html, c++, js etc etc i would write an audio engine or start from a simple one), i can also say for a complicated app generators/converters usually wont work good for long time or for customizations, not the best for the app maintainability. End of the day to me pd is not very smooth, so its not easy and these were only my 2 cents. Peace sorry for my opinion.
