    So the 2nd interviewee is saying they travelled a long watery distance to come to the hole. The shop owners are receiving the food parcels but they’re keeping everything for themselves. They survive on Hot water, Salt and Six Gun Spice. He only saw 2 dead bodies. Their bosses are releasing them, but they don’t know when the bosses will resurface. He’s estimating that they might be around 170 people where he was. He couldn’t respond to the other questions regarding his age and duration of stay underground due to language barriers.

    Correction. The 3rd miner says he was forced to barter his cellphone for 500ml of mageu. He did not sell it for R500 as the reporter translated. But kudos to her overall to trying to speak in different languages.

      Yes, I don't speak the language, but I understood it that way. And the part about guns that are underground, the 1st Miner was referring to Six Gun Grill spice that they were eating spice, vinegar, water etc. Kudos to the reporter, she tried.

      Kudos to the interviewers not only trying to understand /translate, but for the gentle empathy too. No aggressive reporters pushing and shoving or shouting over each other.
