My guess for why you didn't get flint from the gravel is because maybe you had silk touch? If you have silk touch gravel will never drop flint. If you want more flint you can go for fortune, which doesn't make it drop more flint, but makes it drop flint more commonly.
@@imadeanaccountjustforthisc9987 Commonly as in likelihood, "per block" as in yield. Fortune keeps the 1 gravel to 1 flint yield, but just makes it happen more often. I don't understand what's stumping you.

1:47:12 it's the same as bonemealing the nether grass on netherrack - you have to bonemeal the block next to the podzol for it to become podzol. (so basically you can have endless podzol as long as you silktouch one of them and use it to transform the dirt.

Tip end chests can only be mined with a silk touch pickaxe
