I will never forget this match. It was my birthday and I was watching it in the Netherlands with my family. (I am from Norway). What a win and revenge! This was Netherlands at its best.

I cried a lot in 2010 when they lost the final but in 2014 after this match i cried even more.What a match what a performance.The best revenge i have ever seen.Both of my favorite players Robin van persie and robben stole the show that night.I can never ever forget this match in my entire life.
IKR! The commentators and everyone were kissing Spain's ass because they were the defending champion. The penalty awarded to Spain in the first half is dubious as fuck. But then the Dutch stabbed them one knife at a time. Robben's fifth the best, loved how he tortured espc Ramos and Casillas, not only revenge for 2010 but also the UCL. Absolutely love the evil laughter by commentator after that goal.
Epic Video!!!! Full respect to Spain but yes Dutch were able to take the revenge. Though it was a group stage match but they almost ended up Spainish golden era dominance after this. I was in Rio watching The Revenge with thousands of Oranje on the beach. When RvP knocked in that head ball, it was insanity. Imo, however, Robben beating the defender, turning, and scoring is even better than RvP’s brilliant header. Even though we didn’t need it then, it was so awesome, and we all went nuts a fifth time. I could watch this every day.
You might be right there. The Netherlands are probably the greatest footbal nation never to have won the world cup. Although some other countries had great teams that didn't win (Hungary 1954, Brasil 1982, Czechoslowakia 1962) the Dutch are probably champions in not winning with a great team...

But we can have our hopes on 2022 and 2026 now. Alot of great young talent is coming through atm, and alot of great talent has yet to come through in coming years. Redan is a really big talent at Chelsea youth academy and Xavi simons has won 4!! Youth Ballon d'ors and is at the Barca youth academy. and alot of dutch talent is spread over Europe atm, (Tahith Chong, Zirkzee etc.) So in 2022 and 2026 I expect great teams from the Dutch

It was a sweet revenge but if puyol was in the heart of the defence then definitely they wouldn't have lost so badly. So it was a bad luck for spain and Netherlands took the advantage of it. But still the dutch played extremely outstanding and they deserved to win and they outclassed spain. All my praise goes to louis vaan gaal he totally outclassed del Bosque.
