In an MMA match, yes. Purely Wrestling, no. Randy wasn't on Kurt's level in terms of Wrestling. Kurt was an Olympian. There weren't many if any Olympians in the UFC during the early days. The highest leveled Wrestler during the early days was Mark Coleman as Coleman competed at a high level in the Olympics (this was also recolonized by the UFC at the time). If Kurt went into MMA early, he would have been the best Wrestler in MMA. He could have taken Couture. That being said, Kurt would have had serious competition during that time both in Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight. Frank Shamrock, Belfort, Ortiz, Lidell, Couture, Mark Coleman, Barnett, Kevin Randleman etc.. in Welterweight, he's got Matt Huges. On Pride, He's got Fedor, Sakuraba, Nogueira, Cro-Cop, Rampage, etc... It would have been tough for Kurt.

720 p really lmao looks more like 480 on Kurt's side
Somewhere in an alternate universe he was a ufc welterweight champ🏆
Call me crazy but I really think there’s a very high chance he would’ve become 205 Champ or possibly Heavyweight Champion. He was an Olympic Gold Medalist. Daniel Cormier was a double champ & Kurt was better than him on that mat.. just my opinion. Kurt Angle won a 🥇.. With what?? A BROKEN FREAKIN’ Neck!
Love you KURT!!!
He was a wrestler not a thug
I love Kurt but Randy Couture would fold him up pretty easily
@@pikkon899 Dood, Angle was a good wrestler but he wasn't the unstoppable technical monster you're portraying him to be. He's said as much himself.
@@bradnimbus4836 Randy wrestled at 190 pounds. Kurt wrestled at 220 pounds as a heavyweight and is an Olympian where as Randy was not. On a Wrestling mat, Kurt beats Randy, no question. This is Wrestling and the heavyweights have the advantage in the sport. It's 2 different weight classes and 2 different levels of Wrestling. In a cage, it goes to Randy. Randy has better hands. We saw what Mark Coleman did to Dan Severn. Mark was also an Olympic leveled Wrestler and denied all of Severn's takedowns and took down Severn at will. Olympians are on another level and are the best Wrestlers in the world.
@@pikkon899 Meanwhile, Kurt Angle DID NOT weigh 220 at the Olympics and he was about 5'10 in real life. He was undersized as a heavyweight. They don't even share the same type of wrestling, lol. Kurt got tangled up by the most basic of arm bars
@@bradnimbus4836 He was was smaller heavyweight but a legit heavyweight where as Randy was not. They don't share the same type of Wrestling? Randy did freestyle. Randy was a NCAA Division 1 runner up in Freestyle twice at 190 and Kurt won the NCAA's as a heavyweight twice and took second once. That's a terrible argument if you put Randy's Greco-Roman to Kurt's Freestyle or just Freestyle to Greco-Roman in general. Greco will always lose to Freestyle. They're not the same and if you think they are, you don't know Wrestling. Both Randy and Kurt's weight classes are easily verifiable during their Wrestling careers. Randy competed at 190 and Kurt competed at 220. There's literally no disputing this. Kurt has the better record in Wrestling.
Kurt would have had his ass handed to him, without a doubt.
Kurt Angle would be UNDEFEATED UFC CHAMPION 🏆!!
He's a Gold Medalist in Wrestling..if anyone disagree your a Chump
Because he didn't want to get hit in the face for real. Duhhhh
lmao imagine he fought brock lesnar in ufc
He never went to mma because daniel puder thought him a lesson.
With all due respect, that is a trained young guy, against a broken down older guy that never knew he was going to submit him. Being trained in that sport in the prime of your health makes a lot more difference than you think. Kurt could've been possibly better than Randy if he trained with a healthy body. A lot of ifs.
@@Danielson1818 yeah true but when it comes down to it officals saved angle. But yeah angle wit trainiñg might have done well, but the facts we see is that he went all out those matches made to make him look tough. And it backfired
@@johnm3907 Let me a tell you a story. My friend Johnny was always a decently tough kid (not a pussy), but he just couldn't ever beat me in wrestling or a fight EVER. From childhood to adulthood, he would try something every once in awhile, but everyone knew he couldn't take me, and it was just the way it was.
Flash forward to our mid 20's. He still can't win, because genetics (We are the same size). Then I start getting some injuries, a heart illness.... And guess what? Johnny is training at some MMA place for just a couple months. All of a sudden he asks me to grapple one day. I didn't want to, but he kept pushing....... So I won't say he beat my ass, but I definitely didn't beat his. Kinda ended by mutual agreement, So does that mean Johnny is now a badass? Or does that mean circumstances make a difference?
I'm not shitting on Puder. The kid was probably good, and should've been signed, but Angle wasn't prime, and nobody understands BJJ the 1st time they see it. I
Kurt Angle sadly suffered a broken neck before joining the UFC. If Kurt was healthy & strong then, he'd dominate the UFC with the World Heavyweight Championship belt right away. It's not Kurt's fault it didn't happen.
Dana White advised Kurt Angle was going into the UFC Ultimate Fighter heavyweights but he failed the drug test.
Kurt is an actor not a fighter. He would have been destroyed in the UFC
.
couldnt pass the drug testing
According to Dana, yes.
Never got caught in the Olympics though lol
Kurt would do as well as cm punk
Utter nonsense, he’s an Olympic level wrestler. Obviously no other wrestler has done well in UFC???
A bum like Puder had angle beat in 30 seconds. Angle's wrestling is grossly overrated and much like cm punk he doesn't have real fighting instincts. He'd fold quickly.
Lmao he would've done great if he doesn't have a glass chin. Wrestlers do great in MMA. Went to school with Darren Elkins, he's killing it and isn't an Olympic gold medalist. Especially back then though, Angle would've dominated. Punk isn't anything but a pro wrestler. They all failed except for Brock.
@@noprisonerscomedy9956 they were wrestling under wrestling rules and puder went for a Kumari..... Why he got backlash, that's like Conor throwing a leg kick vs Floyd and then claiming he won a boxing match
@@kenadams9376 Don't forget Lashley, Batista, Nakamura, and Shamrock. Come to think of it, there's more successes than failures.
Real reason... HE WAS SCARED
Legit neck injuries are nothing to play with. There's a good reason to be afraid.
Yeah he was scared of going broke.lol
Who wouldn't?
After the whole Daniel Puder fiasco it definitely showed that he should not be in UFC
@DieselCorp Where in my comment did I mention it was a MMA match ma'am? I didn't.
maybe because their ring has too much...........angles
