- In this video I explain the benefits of hand pulling over using powered equipment like trucks and winches. I also demonstrate the setup of a basic pulley system which doubles the force generated by hand and captures the progress.

Thanx Strider, cool how you're sensitive to background noise pollution, plus, your cameraman followed the bull rope up to the t.i.p. and you en route to the base, in one fluent shot! You also dampened the saw so we could still hear the music and thanx a ton for not using metal as your back track,
My wife always shouts, " What awfully music is that!"
Excellent job!
I love mechanical science and am a big "gear head"
I’ve been in the business for a long time now but you can always learn new techniques/skills To make it more efficient and safe thanks for the videos
Absolute homerun‼️
Thanks and thanks again for your efforts in this industry‼️
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Important stuff to know when you can’t get a machine to stuff, but if you know your ropes, machines, and species, you’ll know the feedback and how much tension you have. And just never cut enough to where it could possibly be dangerous.
"you gotta use a strong enough rope, it's very important, now I don't actually know what rope this one is but I'm certain it'll do cause it's the biggest one I have on hand!"
that's tree work in a nutshell :)
Thanks for the tips and tricks your sharing. I personally appreciate seeing these vids.
Glad they can be helpful !
Only if we could transfer”progress capture” to all phases of work and life.
Thanks Strider for sharing your knowledge.
Yes the ISC blocks are amazing. I use a tensioning hitch system I used in Marine recon as an ML that only requires 4 steel locking carabiners.
I’ve seen those systems, pretty sweet ! And carabiners are much cheaper than Blocks too ;)
Can you put a link to the system that you use. It sounds interesting
Thanks! More videos please :)
Nice video n education sir..
“Throw a Pulley and redirect “ say less haha . Nice to see other efficient techniques .
I know you mentioned a 3:1 but I definitely prefer using 3:1in this situation because of the redirect from the second pulley basically garuntees you're out of the falling zone
I’m curious what you mean by 3:1 in that instance. If you put a pulley on the tree where the rope jack was and pulled at a different location through that pulley it would just be a redirect and not a 3:1. It would still be a 2:1 mechanical advantage
@@Stridertrees no that be a 3:1. Three lengths of rope and two pulleys is definitely a 3:1
@@devinhessler1127 nope, in the case your saying, its a 2:1 with a redirect, its only a 3:1 if ALL ropes are parallel
@@devinhessler1127 Sorry Devin, its definitely still a 2 to 1
I think this might be how these people made a fake Big foot movie. But, I could be wrong. They might be telling the truth. Remember the Panda Bear used to be a mythical creature. After more and more people were aware and started looking for it, they/ we eventually found that the creature actually did exist. Big Foot might turn out to be real like the Panda Bear. But this is how to make those Bigfoot shelters with trees that they showed in that movie, minus the chainsaw activity.
Beginner guide to using 2:1…with $10k in equipment…
