Katya is always creative with the choreography. This is my favorite choreography and performance of the night. I’m biased because I love Alfonso Ribeiro, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Sugarhill Gang. Katya put in the popular hip thrusts/moves in this Samba routine. It’s a callback to that famous scene from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. 😂😂😂😂 I love that they picked this song for Mike to dance to and I also love that they are playing The Sugarhill Gang’s music.
Sara Varela good point. It’s Katya. She knows how to choreograph some interesting and creative routines especially when her partner is a dad dancer. The way she choreographed the Samba rolls to the beat of this song is impressive which is why I look forward to seeing hers and Mike’s dance every week. Mike does have natural rhythm so I’m hoping to see something like a paso from him next week since he and Katya can’t rely on humor for that dance.
Sometimes these entertaining dances work but this just wasn't the same as Ed Balls in my opinion? it felt like it was forced to be funny and not actually fun. But I do like that he is still dancing Samba content/he looks so healthy! 5.

Ugh, nooooo!! I'm so so disappointed. They made a really great improvement last week. But nope ,they just make him be a joke dancer again! Why?! Admittedly, it at least had a few Samba semblances, but still! This makes me so so sad. I would have thought Dev's elimination and his scores last week would have inspired him to improve and make sure he was worthy of that score and getting through to next week. Honestly, we lost Dev for this?! 🙄

I'm guessing part of it is because Latin is a little tough for Mike, a bit stiff and not smooth enough to do rolls and stuff, so they add the humor parts to make the performance more fun and hopefully appealing... I agree though, Mike can improve if they focus on what he needs to work on, and not the bits
I think she was actually quite clever - you could see that there's no WAY he could've coped with a proper samba routine. She put a few samba basics in there but adapted it to his level. He's definitely not a Latin man!
If you didn't enjoy this you're watching the wrong programme. Yes Strictly is also about amazing dances and technique but sometimes you just have to sit back and be open to the ridiculousness of it all. I loved this so much.
Seriously, Craig, a 3? It wasn't that bad. In fact, there was a lot I liked about it. He actually had some pretty good hip action (hard to pull off in the Samba), and I didn't notice any mistakes with the timing. His steps were too big and his feet were too far apart, and he was a little stiffer than I'd like to see, but no way was that worth only a 3. I think 5-6 is about right.
I'm sorry, what? That's like saying Mike's quickstep got 32, and Kelvin's samba got 32, therefore Mike is the new Kelvin Fletcher. Or David's quickstep got 28, as did Kelvin in Week 2. David must be the next Kelvin Fletcher. Exactly, it's dumb.

Everyone calm down! The samba moves that were in the dance were pretty average if you ask me. I don’t anyone was expecting a kelvin samba, but this was so entertaining! Honestly, because entertainment counts, I’d give him a 6. Again, samba moves were decent in my opinion.
you could ask how chris hollins won; maybe because he was a bbc employee like mike bushell; however, i believe katya is still making mike work very hard so that he will improve that much quicker; this week i think she will tone down the comedy in favour of a stronger routine from him. the 3 'potential ladies', saffron, alex & emma, will get better & better, while the likes of emma barton, catherine tyldsley & michelle visage, will do well to avoid the dance off next weekend. mike & chris might reach the last 8 together; mike's existence depends on how much viewers like katya; kevin & karim may well be in the final 4, but either saffron or alex will win it. emma weymouth will go a long way but her social standing will go against her eventually; while will bayley will get sympathy votes from the 'pc' brigade, which might get him a place in the top 6.
i thought stacey dooley was a certainty last year, even before she danced. initially, i thought alex would win this year, & she still might, but aj is due a win & saffron has many fans, apart from being a very good dancer; she will be slim beyond recognition by the time the final is danced.
I don’t really want to assume anything, but I think mike bushel will be the next off in Halloween week, as he is in my opinion, the worst one currently now that James, Anneka and David are gone, unless another contestant majorly slips up. I’m sure mike does try his best and all, but compared to the rest of the contestants, I don’t think he’ll quite stand a chance. If Mike Bushell is off the competition next week, then that’s when the competition will become extremely tight, as you have extremely good contestants like Karim and Kelvin, and the rest of the contestants will be good to an extent, I just know it!

Unfortunately, mike dance the whole dance with both of his knees bent. The was bounce, no hip action, he didn't show the rhythm of the dance in his body really... he didn't haver really any technique. I'm extremely disappointed but amused at the same time. The carlton was great and the jump on it was fantastic but the Samba was extremely bad. It wasn't good technically and the fun bit just seemed REALLY forced and mot in the it, it wasn't memorable except the Alfonso bit. The Samba was good at the beginning and then it all went to pot. 7 for entertainment and 3 for Samba so I'll give a *5/10* to middle it

Mike actually has natural rhythm even though he doesn’t nail any of the technique that is required for each dance. His jive dance proves this. I didn’t watch the elimination show so idk how they both did in the dance off but I can guarantee that Mike nailed most of his steps but David missed a lot of his.
I hear they are paying the celebs shed loads of money to appear. I hope so for making Mike Bushell look like an absolute prat every week, it's dad dancing at its very worst! I respect Katya and know she hasn't got a lot to work with, but please! Quoting Motsi the other week, it was simple, simple beautiful. She could have crafted routines that are simple, that he could do well with just a little entertainment value! Sorry Katya not sure if you'll be chosen as a professional next year!
