That is a nice install. The signals looks very good , and electronics is my weak point too! There is a lot of controller involved. Great video.

I'm using tortoise switch machines ,I'm not sure if the Kato switch machines have built in auto dpdt switches like the tortoise, but I'm thinking you probably can use the tortoises with the katos

I'm considering using the N scale Atlas signal system but I'm also planning to use the Kato Unitrack system. I'm wondering if this unit will interface with Kato turnouts.

Your Bus wire is 14v AC right?

The other issue i noticed in reading about the Atlas Signal Control boards, they require a detector of some kind, and they will not work with straight DC. No one makes a detector for DC now, so im having to go with Model Train Technology's system, as they use adjustable motion sensors.

You should be able to use an optical or IR detector - any detector that will deliver a negative signal to DIn.

With all the Technology out there I'm wondering why there isn't a more solid state system. Something like a cable box or even a Play Station type set up.

@Mike Hunt the N scale retard Ring Engineering's Rail Pro system is fantastic. DCC is already to old but it is heavily invested in. RC and Battery systems will soon be the norm in the future. Once 3D printing gets the bugs worked out you will be able to say make a freight car that's not made by any manufacturers. The future looks bright in this hobby but it's kind of slow.
