Twelfth round of the 1994 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix Season. Luca Cadalora picks up his first of two wins in the 1994 season, with local rider and defending race winner John Kocinski in second place. Polesitter and early race leader Mick Doohan is forced to settle for third after suffering tyre problems throughout the race.

NOTE: The 250cc race footage was sourced from a damaged VHS tape, so apologies for the incredibly shoddy quality.

Mick Doohan is the reason I got a motocycle race fan. :)
Daz & Baz along with Channel 9 Australia’s coverage with its bike graphic’s & music choices going to & from Ads is as slick as they come & hasn’t dated at all, easily smash’s the current MotoGp’s package.
Yeah, I do love the old Channel Nine graphics. Having said that, a live leaderboard is certainly nice to have.
TrickyMario7654 That’s very true Mario it’s a big help trying to keep track of everyone , and it’s not just that I miss Daz & Baz because I get that they’re from a different time.
But dead set the latest commentators are a Barry Crocker compared to the brilliant Nick Harris who retired from Motogp cometary in 2019, he was informative yet unassuming and realised it’s basically a visual medium where the latest blokes just scream at us almost & fair dinkum they never shut up.
it’s like they learnt nothing from Nick Harris in all those years who was subtle but excited when he needed to be.
Yes never seen what daz looked like .got say he was great measured caller of the race .
I was there in attendance for this race. It was great event, especially for Luca and Yamaha. Unfortunately it was a terrible weekend for Kevin ☹️. Anyway, thanks for another great upload.👍😎
Kamikaze Joe You’re welcome. The ol’ Corkscrew bit Schwantz hard that year, just like it did with Doohan the pervious year.
@@TrickyMario7654 Yes it did. I was standing pretty close when Kevin had his fall. It was especially disappointing for me because I was and still am a big fan of his. Probably the most exciting rider of that time. Kinda like MM93 now.
Barry sheene was a pretty cool guy of the 70s, always interesting the things he had to say.
It's pretty crazy that today's 600's are now doing the same lap times as the 500's were doing in '94
Yeah, I totally agree with you.
Thanks for posting these vids great and the was only one Barry rip Baz you are missed
Thanks again for all of these mate. I've watched them all. Do you happen to have anything from '97 onwards (the channel ten era)?
Anthony Katern No, I don’t.
Shoutout to Anthony Gobert (RIP) at 35:10
Sheenes a little butthurt that Abe got to ride Daryl's bike lol. Abe earned any chance he got he was fast as hell when he didn't crash
It's HORRIBLE to suffer a hip dislocation!! You don't want to be touched, nothing. It's such a big joint, it has to be put back in under general anesthesia.
500 two Strokes real gp bikes true real mana of other galaxy
Kocinski vs cadalora is a cool battle
Kevin's a great guy. Helped me with getting my YZF1000 turned. "In Cahoots" Sport bike night, Sacramento, California 1998
Poorly, Kevin schwantz
Rode my bike to this race from alberta canada
That must have been nice.
Yes awesome, Schwantz crashed in practice so didn't get to see him ride also went back in 95 for wsb also good

Poorly Kevin Schwartz
It is a generation 250 cc. No 500cc.
1:03:23 oooooh
Thank fuck I can understand the commentary and can find out what is actually happening in the race, hate these Spanish and Italian commentators trying to see speak over the riders when they are talking about the racing, shows disrespect and no manners for the riders
Cant watch the MotoGP nowadays, commentators are boring and The racing looks tediously easy, add that with all the rider aids and Wizz bang sensors and stuff, when Doohan, shwantz, Rainey and Gardner and Sheene were racing it was real men On really unforgiving bikes, Doohan rode stoner's RCV Honda and it seemed like a pig to Doohan, stoner rode doohans bike and was scared of the Power, Doohan would lap faster On the nsr screamer any day Of The week, stoner and co ain't nowhere near as good as Doohan and The riders they admire, drop All the technology and put them on the old 500cc machine's and see how they do, would take the riders Of today half a season just to be able to ride the bike properly Under race conditions
