Dr Sam a Amadi is truely a front runner of the type of judiciary system all well meaning Nigerians hopes for. The judiciary should say "the Executive, do not by us houses or anything, we are knowledgeable enough to know what we need and we will put it in our budget tendered to the national Assembly for due scrutiny and aproval so we are not indebted or grateful to you in any way"
When you listen to some of these basic issues, you get the feeling, WE AS A COUNTRY ARE NOT READY FOR THE VERSION OF DEMOCRACY seen and articulated in Western world!!!

The executive is gifting "chosen" judges' houses, and that's not bribery abi? Like the judiciary cannot afford to construct houses for it judges. Which serious country in the world does the executive give houses and cars to judges?
Wike build houses, and gave them SUVs in Rivers State during his Governorship. But same Judges are giving rulings against his interest in River State, let us grow up
For governance in Nigeria, there is no clear cut operational separation of power, even though it is spelt out in our constitution. To me, any gift to the Judiciary is an inducement. No wonder, Wike political successes had it strength on judiciary gifting of cars, houses etc etc. No wonder he always speaks with big mouth full of confidence.
From what I'm seeing, if care is not taking, what will happen in next election will be more laughable than the previous election. The judges have been bought already ahead of next election 😢
If you pay them a proper wage, and allow for their independence….we would NOT be talking of Judges’ quarters!!! Is it the case, these Judges are not trusted to manage their own funds…. Let us construct our judicial system. A judge who is corrupt remains corrupt regardless of their living conditions. A judge's integrity should not be influenced by their living conditions. I believe that the new Chief Justice of Nigeria will not bring any positive changes and improvements to the judiciary.
Everyone in Nigeria deserves peace of mind. Pure water sellers, artisans, doctors, nurses. Singling out judges to build houses for them is bribery and corruption pure and simple.
Please am not in support of the current curropt attitude in the judicial system but judge's are entitled to a living quarters in the days past ministry of works and housing and ministry of justice used to provide living quarters for judge's it's not a new thing but the military destroy the system and politicians took advantage of that by building houses for judge's.

Are you sure you watched or understood the issues raised in the interview? For your education, judges (judiciary) are also part of the government and should be financially independent to build/provide those houses for themselves.
