When the guy says "this is what I was talking about, you don't have to be that far away" in reference to the "distance greater than 100m". What did he say about this? How far away is acceptable? Thanks.
Best to do as it says. At least 100m and the prism the same height as total station. I think the threshold is within 9 degrees vertically up and down also. Wouldn't do it through a window either.
what about the tiltaxis...i not see the necessary steep aiming. and the biggest question is what kind of floor you have... concret will be good.. need to be stable.
This video is not about calibration but just check and adjust , so the outcomes u get from your instrument in real work environment, when measuring that day that time .
Dumb question if im buying a second hand used TS15 can i get away with doing this calibration or would i need to service this... Also how often do you need to go to the leica distributors to adjust it? Thanks
if you do this adjustment proper it is the minimum what you need to be shure, past you have done it go to a place where you have some fix points you know an make first and second face measurements to check the TS - if you do a firste and second face measurement (150mtr on a fix prism) set Hz to zero at first aim and write down Vz than do the measurement and if the dist difference is not over 2mm and your hz and vz is in summa 360degree or 400gon +/-5mgon you can be shure its good. but a fieldadjustmen not clean intern the circles and avoid future damage by dirt and dust and oxidations inside the TS. Fazit: it allway depends where you buy.. at a leica dealer you get a certificate.. at a other dealer you get maybe even a adjustemt certificate but let me say its not the same. they have no acces to the needed leica service programms (lack of leica dongle or modern online adjustemt an testsoftware what connet you to leica) they do the same field calibrtion as you see here..and maybe even in this manner 😉. its like to buy a ferrari or maserati from private.. if it was every year serviced by (leica)dealer its o.k. if not it can be there is a expensive maintenance backlog ... one more tip. you can be shure the TS was not in service when it has a old firmware.. at a TS15 minimum you have to had V9.x today... btw. a TS15 is a perfect choice!
