Timmy I absolutely loved this one! Every single video you guys do, from the "regular" ones with all three of you, to these Under The Hood" friday specials, are fantastic. Roger Wasson is a treasure, I could listen to this man tell stories for hours on end. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and please keep them coming🙏🙂 Merry Christmas guys!
Timmy, I have 2 pictures I took at Level Cross in Feb. 1970 before Daytona of Dan Gurney's Superbird # 42 in the shop. If you tell how to send them to you I will. This is the car Roger picked up at Ray Nickels shop. Mark knows who I am. Merry Christmas!
Great episode. Don't know if this is true or not but i'd heard that when Holman Moody sent their trucks to Level Cross to pick up the former Petty Ford cars & parts etc. at the end of 1969 that Chief just had it all tossed outside in one humongous pile. (lol..)
In 1970 Richard only raced at Martinsville one time on October 18, 1970. Richard qualified 4th. In that race Richard led 480 of 500 laps easily winning the race by a lap and a half over second place Bobby Allison.

Merry Christmas folks! I don't know if I missed the answer, but I still would like to hear about how & when dry sump systems made their way into cup racing.(?)
Ah the good old days of getting black out drunk, driving home and showing up for work the next day. I love hearing these old stories of how things used to be back in the day.
